Anyone have advice on how to clean the fabric lining of RM bag specifically Nikki? Entire lining is a bit dusty but there are no stains or spots. I'm thinking about pulling out the lining and giving it a gentle wash by soaking it in water with Woolite, then letting it air dry. Will I ruin my lining by doing this? FYI the lining is black/white floral. TIA!!

^ooh, I don't know about trying to wash the lining. I'd be too afraid of accidentally soaking the leather. If it's just dust maybe a few passes with a lint roller will take care of it? Or ask the RM staff directly for advice there.

Lining has darkened over time from usage and also dusty too! I've tried pulling out the lining and giving it a good pat so I think the dust has come off but it's still looks "dirty". That's a good idea to contact RM to see if they have any suggestions, I will try that!

Mooch, If you are careful, maybe pulling out the lining & cleaning in Woolite might work. There was a PF'er who soaked her entire Bal bag in Woolite & it came out fine. Then again, Bal & RM leather are different & I am too chicken to do anything like that to my own bag but I can see my lining getting dusty over time so knkowing a way to clean it is good. Do update if you hear from RM.

I'm waiting for my dark grey mam that I special ordered and wanted to have whatever I'm going to protect it with when it comes. I've never done this before. Does someone have a dark grey bag that they've protected and conditioned and what did you use? How were the results?

Dark grey is pretty sturdy. I've used both Apple and LMB conditioners on mine, but it really doesn't need it. I've also protected it with Apple Guarde, but the sheen on it already makes it resilient towards water and stains.

i purchased the Apple Leather Care Kit, which comes with the Cleaner, Conditioner, and Cloth. has anyone else experienced that Cloth shedding everywhere while they applied the cleaner/conditioner? or was I supposed to use a different cloth to clean with and that soft Cloth to just buff? also, i'm worried about putting it in the washer b/c i feel like it will disintegrate! any advice on the Cloth?

Default What Leather Cleaner to use??
I just recently purchased a RM Elephant Matinee - What leather cleaner is the best to use that would help soften it some?

I think you just clean patent with petroleum jelly (vaseline). No waterproofing required. Makes me want to get a patent MAM for rainy days!

kiki - i did treat my seagreen nikki. I had my BF spray it with the appleguard protectant. At first the entire bag darkened but after a day it lightened back up and it's fine now. I'll never use a bag again without spraying it.

Although I never protected my BBW MAB. Has anyone treated a black bag? I'm not sure if I should protect my Noir Nikki before i use it.
