I was just going to look for this thread. I have protected several of my bags with apple condtioner and applegard repellent and have had great results but I now have 2 bags that have not appreciated the protection!!! I just sent off my resort yellow mam to LMB to have the handles cleaned up because apple conditioner darkened them and today like a dummy I sprayed my saddle mab with applegard thinking it'd be good to protect it. It is now a different color. (Which is why if anyone noticed I have withdrawn it from ebay!) You can see it in my signature. Luckily I like the new color better than the old color but I will not be spraying any more of my bags because next time could have disastrous results that can neither be repaired or that I would like. Just really, really be careful protecting your bags. Some of them are just so delicate that these products are just not good for them. I am happy with the new color of my saddle, it is now more of a caramel color but it really could have been way worse. I'm keeping it now that I've managed to alter it! LOL!

i was wondering what to do w/ my new Mini Nikki. it's navy luxe and it has a little glaze to it.
i also have a tangerine MAM that i used LMB's 'for handles only' and sprayed it w/ Apple rain and stain.
should i at the least spray my Navy luxe?? hmmmmmm?

i just tried to "spot" spray my Iris / Purple Lizard MAM and the trim was ok, but the Iris does not seem to be color protected. a tiny bit of dye came off on the "spot" i sprayed (which turned out to be a larger spot than intended, because it's windy outside and i don't want to spray inside). the color didn't seem to rub off the bag itself, but there was some blue on the tissue that i gently rubbed the sprayed spot.

do you guys think i should just not spray it?

has this happened to anyone else using the AG rain repellant?

ok now that i think about it, the spray is not meant to be rubbed in anyway (i was really just following the directions on the can and testing it), so it's probably okay to protect it using AG spray as long as i don't rub the leather?

I really don't use a prtectant spray on any of my darker bags. I probably wouldn't spray the navy luxe, but I have not seen the leather IRL.

i treated my bags with the leather care and the rain & stain spray apple garde that i got and not sure if i notice any difference from before and after treating but my bags are all dark colors.

my bag picked up two scratches today so i may have to condition it again.

i would recommend spraying it very lightly and from far away (6-9 inches away). i think the spray left a small dark mark on one of my bags but it is not very noticeable and i don't mind since it's not a light colored bag.

All three!! (I am aaaaaanal).

BTW, I took my wine Nikki out yesterday for the first time (sigh...) and as fate would have it got caught in the rain. Twice.

No problems whatsoever. (I sprayed the bag before using it).

OK, here's what i did!
first of all Saturday i got caught in the rain w/ NL MN! ahhhhh!!! after i figured she was dry, she still looked spotty in places. so, i left her overnight and looked again this morning----same thing. i think b/c of the variations in the leather, my eyes are playing tricks on me.
so, i conditioned her w/ Apple and then after she was dry, sprayed her w/ Apple rain and stain.
she looks great!!

Nolarice - Thank goodness you were able to bring your bag back to new.

I've only used my SG Nikki a few times now because I know I need to protect it but I couldn't decide what to buy. I was just on LMB's site and the application of the conditioner sounds nuts, rub it in a circular motion in small spots, then use a HAIRDRYER too complicated for me so I just went to leatherstuff and ordered the appleguarde rain/stain protectant. I hope it's okay to use on sea green. Has anyone used it on anything sea green?? TIA.

Lo - What do you spray your bags with?

Has anyone treated any of their sea green bags with the apple guarde? I'm not sure if I should test spray it on a section first.

I usually use the Wilson's TLC spray. I was just wondering the same thing about conditioning the glazed mini nikki. I just held my breath and purchased the black noir mini nikki on ebay. I am not sure if that bag is glazed or not.
