I've heard good things about the Coach moisturizer. I don't see why you couldn't use it on RM bags, but be sure you do a spot test just in case.

Help!!! I have a food stain ( not sure what type of food) on my sage mattie, I"ve used the Apple leather cleaner which has not done anything, would you recommend Lovingmybags cleaner? Thanks!

Lots of people have had success with Lovinmybags. My understanding is it is even gentler than the Apple Leather care, so there is less of a threat of the color of the leather coming off.

Hey all - I am quoting directly from an email I recieved from Cory today:

"The majority of our bags look better the more you wear them in, we also don't suggest treating the bags with anything as it sometimes changes the appeal of the bag."

What, what, WHAT? Don't treat them? That is odd. Just thought I would share that. I will still be using leather conditioners/cleaners/sprays as needed though. But thats just me.

I will still spray some of my bags but I am also careful with conditioners now. I used Apple conditioner on my resort yellow mam and it darkened the handles and left a dark spot on the flap above the outside pocket. I got the spot out on the flap with a Mr. Clean magic eraser but I'm sending the bag to Lovin My Bags to clean up the handles. It'll be treated there for resistance to future staining once it's restored. It really depends on the leather. My dark brown mam and tangerine matinee are both OK with conditioners but my yellow mam isn't. I'm not sure about my saddle mab, I've left it alone for now.

^^tlloveshim, I might be careful with the saddle. It is a lighter color leather right?

All of my bags are darker colored so I guess I feel a bit better about conditioning them, but it ALWAYS make me nervous!

^^ Yeah, the saddle is lighter and the leather is super soft and feels like it'd soak up anything I put on it, not the same feeling I get from my dark brown mam. I would like to protect the handles from darkening but don't want to risk messing them up with conditioner. I considered LMB for handles only but I'm hesitant to use anything now after my yellow mam darkened.

i just got my first RM, an Iris / Lizard MAM. with new bags, do you guys recommend conditioning first and then spraying, or just using the spray first, or nothing at all?

I'm no leather expert but and I don't know the Iris leather. I have sprayed some of my bags but not all and I only condition them when necessary (like the leather seems dried or tired) According to RM you should do nothing and just let the bag grow old gracefully.

I have never protected either of my bags. Conditioning will protect it somewhat, but its mainly used like still searching said if the leather seems to be dry/wrinkled. If its a brand new bag, i would just spray it with rain/stain protector

I use AG cleaner, conditioner, and then (lightly) spray Apple Guard Garde all of my bags -- and Lovin my Bags "For handles Only" on the MA's. I don't own any leathers like the saddle that are very light colored, but so far I have had wonderful results with these products on all of my bags, most of which are heavily dyed/pigmented leathers (wine, ruby, black, violet, tangerine, etc.) and some of which are glazed slightly/a lot (almond, mocha). No complaints or water spots so far, and I have gotten caught in the rain with at least one RM.

I have also used Coach leather care in the past and think it's good, but I had more issues with bags getting dirty (and I am very careful about this).

HTH!

thanks Loquita, do you use the cleaner & conditioner even on brand new bags, before you wear them? or just the protectant spray?
