I tried this in a Beloved related thread but got no response.
I am hoping someone might be able to tell me the smallest possible strap drop of the regular Beloved? Does anyone actually wear it that way, just on one shoulder/not cross body? The dimensions seem really similar to most shoulder bags, so I'm tempted to find out if it wears well that way. (Looks good, fells good, strap stays up decent, etc.) Also, I'd love to know if the width remains the same or if it smooshes and changes depending on what is inside. Lastly, I'd LOVE any direct comparisons to the Nikki if possible. Sorry for all the Q's, I am having RM style woes, trying to find what works for me. I'm drooling over everything, but trying to think practically in terms of what I carry, how I carry it, my frame, etc. I got my first, a Nikki, and I'm torn. It looks cute, but it's sort of a big black hole... it seems to me like the Beloved might be a bit smaller and less black hole like.(All Q's I'm talking about the regular beloved. The mini seems adorable and perfect for cross body, but kinda small for a shoulder bag. Maybe one day I could afford to keep a mini-b in a neutral for travel, etc.) |

No Nikki comparison but you might be able to find some answers here,
Newest member of my family: RM BELOVED in Black Haze! I am guessing the shortest strap drop of Mini B & B are the same. It hangs pretty low & not all that short if you want a snug shoulder bag like the Nikki. There is also no belt hoops so hanging it to be the shortest might not be a good thing as the excess trap might flap around over time. |

I don't know about the Beloved but I have the Mini Beloved and I sometimes wear it on the shoulder. It doesn't stay put quite as well as I would imagine a Nikki would (sometimes I find myself adjusting the strap when I feel it is starting to slip) but it's not a big deal to me.

The MB doesn't stay on the shoulder very well unless you hold the top of the bag down while you're walking. The shortest drop is still quite long, so I'm sure the Beloved is the same way. It's really meant to be a crossbody bag, but the strap could ride up on your neck if your bag is too heavy. That won't matter if you're wearing a collared shirt or a turtle neck though.

You can see my photos in the Beloved style thread. A shoe or handbag expert could make a shorter strap drop for you, but the strap is not wide and may still easily slip off the shoulder, especially with the glossy Haze leathers. For me, I find a 10 to 13 inch strap drop works best for a shoulder bag. |
