Im going there on the 5th and remembered the awesome pics of the bright green and blue MABs I had saw on a Japanese site back in the day, that were subsequently posted here. I only get a day to poke around and shop but really, I would be ecstatic if I could find an old skool MAB in some funky fresh color!

Any PFers in the know about RM shopping in Japan? Any info would be much appreciated!

Hi GUNG, I know there are some shops and department stores where carry RM overthere but you have to let us know "which city in Japan" you'll go. But if you go to major department stores, I bet you will be surprised by their retail price while their(Japanese) authorized online retailors surprisingly offer much lower price which almost same as overhere(well, it also depends on the exchange rate though)

Oh, just to let you know that some store info and addresses on RM site seems wrong and confusing.

This shop seems that they have many selections. Note that they still carry Royal/BW
MAB(MAM is sold out) and the price (compare to major stores)

When you go to shops(in Japan) under "Kanagawa", you see "YOKOHAMA" in name of the shop. Yokohama(city) is in Kanagawa prefecture neighboring to Tokyo. But it's address is "HYOGO" which is locating next to Osaka. Same happened under "AICHI"(shop's address is Tokyo).
If the one is not familiar with places, these could be confusing and just like mixing up places in CA and in NY toghter.

Under Mitsukoshi stores as well. I think they wanted to list city name before "Japan" but they just repeated stores' name instead. If the stores carry simply just the city names where they are locating, it's ok but sounds if stores created their name instead of just using city name(and if they are listed as cities) kwim?

By the way, do you know the name of the color of this cutie??

I had the chance of snaring that kelly green MAB earlier from a Taiwanese seller but passed on it and now its sold >.<

Hi Gung! So excited that you are going to Japan:) I lived there for 2 summers, and it's one of the most amazing places in the world!!!!

I agree with the other girls that some of the department stores will carry them. if you do RM internet searches too, the Japanese boutiques will also come up. Takashimaya may carry it too. There's also some young and hip department store (if I remember the name, I'll PM you) that will most likely carry RM. Additionally, there are also some "vintage" purse shops that sell pristine, barely used purses that you may be able to find it at. I was able to find an LV cherry blossom pouchette back in the day by way of one these shops. They may be outside of Tokyo city, but the Japanese train system is VERY easy to navigate, even if you don't speak Japanese!

Another way is to search the Japanese auctions on Rakuten or Yahoo Japan. They usually do not ship to the US, so perhaps you could time it so that you could pick up the purse when you get to Japan.
