OK, I know not all of you like the long unfinished tassels... I know there's been threads about pro/con, dislike/like. I'm one of those who really don't like the long unfinished tassels, and being a crafty sort I decided to do something about it.

Here's one photo of two sets of the finished tassels:

Here's the link to my Picasa photo album for this project:

http://picasaweb.google.com/joelenew...at=directlink#

The captions on the photos explain what I did and what I did it with. I could not for the life of me find tiny half circles or even circles to 'add' the the ends; I couldn't find spots that were small enough with long enough prongs to even use on this leather doubled (if I did find a ring or circle to hang on the end). I could not find studs this size. I unfortunately don't know any handbag manufacturers in China. My leather guy at Tandy referred me to a miniature saddle maker site, but no joy there either.

So this was my end result, and I am very pleased! I am jumping with joy, swear to God!

Oh - on the caption for tools needed, I wrote 'float' spots, and I meant 'flat' spots. Can't seem to change that right now ...

Thanks, ladies!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I found the 3/16 gold round flat spots on the 'Bay ... unfortunately the seller doesn't have silver spots.

Whoa, that looks great!!! I like finished tassels and this is a good alternative for bags with unfinished tassels. It definitely gives it a polished look..Awesome job!

Well yes, in a way - she had the hardware already and just needed to shorten. I LOVE what she did. If I had the hardware it would have been so much easier to figure out. I had the hardest time finding something that would work.

I don't know why this type of hardware isn't easier to come by!
