I have seen less fall out when i used it last year. I am thinking about getting it again because i think my spring shedding has started again...lol. gl :)
I have been loosing at least 40-50 strands a day for the past 8 months now. I really think mine is linked to a genetic factor though. I have heard of that product before & it seems like its a hit and miss with people. Once you stop using it, it will probably go back to how it was. I know 40-50 doesn't sound like that much but my hair is already naturally thin so I can see how much worse it looks.

Well then if its genetic , i dont think there is much you can do then. I thought 40-50 strands a day is normal? I even heard 100 is normal on days you wash your hair. Does your hair grow fast though? If your hair is naturally thin , maybe you can get a new hairstyle so it looks fuller. My hair is naturally blonde and of course its fine because no natural blonde has thick hair. So i just get long layers in my hair to give it some body and movement. It looks better this way then all one length .

I have used biotin steadily since Nov 11. Prior to starting, I wore a weave for a year just to let my hair grown. When I took the weave out my hair had grown to the middle of my back but it was thin. So I started taking the biotin and that thickened it up alot. I'm wearing another weave and I cut a lot of my inches off prior to putting this one in. But biotin, along with regular shampoos with Nioxin, saved my hair!

I know I'm a little late on this but yes this caused my normally crystal clear skin to break out BIG TIME 3 months into useage and even though I stopped taking it, I continued to have breakouts (minimum 3 pimples at any given time) for another 3 or 4 months. Proactive finally calmed everything down and I'm back on my regular skin care routine and breakout free....I'll never take biotin again lol...

I've been using biotin as a part of my daily vitamin intake for a while now. I agree-- it's great! I tell almost everyone I know about it. Hahah

I've been using 1,700 mg, but not every day. No breakouts, hair is thicker by 50% and nails look okay.

You can also take a parental vitamin (generic is okay too) and it should help tremendously as well :)

Loss of hair is a common symtom of low iron ladies :( I too have shed loads of hair - a blood test revealed low iron levels. Pre natals would help as they have iron in them too.

I've been taking the phyto vitamins and ran out, so I switched to a generic biotin - 1000mg. I usually only take it a few days a week - otherwise, I break out. I have seen a big difference, my hair is much thicker.

When I take biotin with A LOT of water I don't get breakouts when I don't I get these huge cystic pimples... And i know it's from the vitamins because when I don't take them at all I never get big pimples like that.. I do still like it though... I've been taking 4000mg a day( i take 2000 mg pills one and night one in the morning) I was taking the 5000 single pill ..But I read that because Biotin is a water soluble vitamin if u take more than ur body can use u will just urinate it out.. So its better to break it down into two doses at different times so ur body uses more of it... It has made my thin hair somewhat thicker and fuller looking and it really really helped my nails!!!!!

Does anyone know if this is safe to take with other supplements? Such as omega 3, MSM, etc?
