I have been thinking about getting the beauty blender for such a long time, I was always hesitant because of the price.
I think I may just try it out since so many of you are raving about it!

Yes. I'm guessing as it gets washed more and worn, it becomes spongier. The newer one I've just started using seems more "dense".

I absolutely love beauty blender! Even after 10 hours of wearing makeup I can totally look refreshed my dabbing little powder with beauty blender. It makes such a clean, airbrushed finish that other sponges or brushes can't deliver!

I just wash with the cleanser that came with it and squeeze the extra water out. I just don't like that you can see the residue on the sponge. I bought a cheap version and works exactly the same way. I won't buy another BB again. They're just not worth that price tag.

I'm thinking of buying the beauty blender sponge but am a bit skeptical. On this page http://www.hairnskin.org/?p=10 , it says that the sponge begins to tear within 6 months of use. Is this true? I mean it isn't exactly the cheapest sponge in the world.

Mine have never torn. I would venture to guess that if someone has issues with their BB tearing that they're probably being too rough with it when cleaning. All it takes is gentle rubbing when using the cleaning solution on the sponge to get the makeup out of it; there's no need to be rough with it. The sponge will eventually get stained by the foundation, but you are good to go as long as you clean it each time you use it. It's not the cheapest sponge out there, but I have tried many of the cheaper versions and found that they don't work as well for me. The BeautyBlender is well worth its price to me.

I have never used sponges before. This one looks nice. How do you like it compared to a really good foundation brush?

Mine did, actually way less than 6 months. I like the results from the sponge but not worth the price tag. The cheaper versions at drug stores provide the same results.

I find it blends foundation very well. It makes it look more natural. I like to switch between the sponge and a brush, but using the sponge takes me longer to apply for some odd reason.

I kind of liked it when I was using a "regular" foundation (Clinique) because it gave off a dewy finish. But ever since I switched to Makeup forever HD foundation, I just cannot use beautyblender without wasting so much foundation. The sponge soaks up the foundation in a second! Was not the case with my previous foundation. Plus, I really can't see the difference between finger application vs beautyblender with HD foundation, and I use a lot less if I apply with my fingers.
