thanks so much for the pics!! agree it's still beautiful, but definitely different

@t_lo ...maybe if we pre-treat our bags it will help combat fading? i have apple care products at home, so now i just ordered black rock too. The care and maintenance thread also recommends LMB and leather honey.

ps, i just realized that i've convinced myself that $995 for a bag that is likely to fade is a good deal!

hope our pre-treating works, good luck...

I'm definitely disappointed. I bought it because it was a vibrant, bright, crisp Amethyst and now it's more of a duller, dingier version.

The frustrating thing is that I've been told by Intermix that it's not their problem, nobody answers the phone at PS, and they havent responded to my email.

Not good...

I could live with the colour as is. It is still pretty - I do get compliments. The bigger issue for me is that if it has deteriorated to this point after so few uses, what is it going to look like one or two years from now? I'm nervous to take it out and use it because I don't want it to deteriorate further!

I agree!!! And to be honest, I think that PS will likely just tell you this is what their leather is supposed to do...if you ever did get a response. Seems like that is what they have told others who have had discoloration issues! Did you treat the bag with anything? Wondering if that would help possibly? I have an Orchid Keepall on the way and I am honestly very afraid know of what will become of it. I live in FL, it's very hot, sunny and humid year round, so it won't take long I'm sure to affect the bag at any rate. Like you said, what will become of the bag in a year or two if it's already looking the way it is! I too love the crsip Amethyst color and would be sadly disappointed if it changed. I think I am done with PS for the foreseeable future or possibly forever if they don't get their act together! They can't expect ppl to pay top $$$ for their products with no real CS or QC!!!!

My PS1 in smoke colour also faded n turned brownish (dusty brown). Very sad over the change in colour as I like the bag very much. Contemplating to get another medium size in midnight blue but afraid the colour will change.

Hi manuka_chan, my smoke is also a bit brownish, especially under yellow lighting but more grey at other times. I love that it's a unique color

I stumbled upon it yesterday. Quite disturbing I say.
I have been looking at the PS1 on HgBagsOnline...after reading about this, I think I will save my potential heartache some-brand else

Hi Elliespurse

You are lucky that your bag's colour is more grey. The colour under the flap s grey but exterior is mainly brown - dirty brown and looks very old n worn. I do not like the faded n still prefer the grey when I first owned it. I just owned it for slightly more than year. For the price I paid for it; it was disappointed with color change. If the bag price is cheap, I have nothing to complain about it. Hope you understand.

That's exactly what they told me! I didn't treat with anything - very annoying!!! Keep it out of the sun would be my recommendation - like don't even USE it on sunny days!

Well...I live in Florida, so keeping it out of the sun would be next to impossible for me! I'd only be able to wear it a few days a year and it would likely be raining if the sun wasn't out, so that would be no good either. I'm so sorry about your bag, it's really a shame all the QC issues with these PS1's and the leathers!

The orchid now looks more like raspberry!
I was thinking about purchasing à bright color like: orange, Lemon or suède hot pink. Any opinions about those?

Does anyone know about any fading issues on the red PS1s? Unfortunately this is turning me off from getting my first proenza as well.
