I am absolutely in looove with this bag!!! And I drool with envy as I see newly bought PS1's in the thread. It would be great to see a separate thread with comments and photos to show how your PS1's have aged.

Since there is already a considerable following for the PS, I was hoping the PS owners could post photos of their PS (preferably 1 year old or more) ---- whether PS1 satchels, keepalls, pochette or wallets. If possible, please answer the following questions:

1) When did you buy it?
2) How often do you use it?
3) What do you like about it as it aged?
4) What don't you like about it as it aged?

When did you buy it? A little more than a year ago.

How often do you use it? I use it now and then for travel, carrying laptop and files, as crossbody bag when bicycling etc.

What do you like about it as it aged? Everything although I can't really see any wear, some scratches perhaps.

What don't you like about it as it aged? Nothing.


PS1 Large in Smoke

When did you buy it? A year ago.

How often do you use it? Everyday for 4-5 months during the warmer period.

What do you like about it as it aged? I treated the leather with a conditioner and perhaps darkened a tiny bit. There are some scratches from wear but most can be rubbed out with a finger. Love the look and the softness of the Smoke leather. I have been trying to avoid rain though (using umbrella) because it could darken the leather more.

What don't you like about it as it aged? Nothing although it's more sensitive than other colors.

Medium Midnight
1) When did you buy it? Last February
2) How often do you use it? on and off rotation, usually everyday use. I don't baby it
3) What do you like about it as it aged? soft leather and slouchy look, had problems with the sealant and also an anchoring stud fell of but PS repaired it without charge
4) What don't you like about it as it aged? Nothing!

First Gen Bright Blue Wallet
1) When did you buy it? Last spring
2) How often do you use it? everyday in my bag to carry supplemental cards
3) What do you like about it as it aged? really soft leather and great color
4) What don't you like about it as it aged? gets dirty really easily, but it adds to the charm

thank you for posting this!! i'm especially interested to see if anyone has thoughts on how the beige/tan color range ages. I have been considering a PS1 in Birch but i'm worried that it will get darker as it ages; i might consider a different color (lighter or a different color all together) if it gets much darker.

2) How often do you use it? Everyday
3) What do you like about it as it aged? I love how buttery the leather is and how the shape is quite saggy.
4) What don't you like about it as it aged? I'm not the biggest fan of the hardware, I have a few chips and the handle has cracked on the sides. (would love if PS changed it, or used a sturdy paint.) Thankfully, only I can see that.

I've used it every day since I bought it - put it away for the first time last Monday, just to pull it out again Tuesday!
3) What do you like about it as it aged?
The leather has gotten even softer than it was when it was new, The color has warmed and blends nicely, The body of the bag hugs my body when I carry it on the shoulder, Not a single mark on the bag (no scratches, scuffs or even finger nail markings) and I definitely don't have to baby this bag!
4) What don't you like about it as it aged?
Not much - only that one end of the shoulder strap seems to be wearing a little more heavily than the opposite end. I only just noticed it. It's like one piece of the leather is thinner than the other piece (the shoulder strap is two separate pieces of leather rather than one long continuous piece) and the edges are wearing down a little faster than the other end & the leather just feels a little bit thinner. It's nothing major tho (I'm not worried about it!)

Leather falls nicely and must softer. Great condition despite under heavy use, still very in love with this bag!

4) What don't you like about it as it aged?
nothing so far, bag still looks great and new to me. LOVE IT!

Black Medium PS1

1) When did you buy it?
October 2010

2) How often do you use it?
Daily, for about 3 months and I started to alternate it between a few other bags since Feb this year.

3) What do you like about it as it aged?
I like that it gets slouchier and doesn't look as structured. The leather of my bag is not smooth and soft to start with, I really like that soft, sqooshy feel of my bag now.

4) What don't you like about it as it aged?
The coated hardware chipped but I don't get it as bad as some tPFers, I am not too fuss about it either. I carry a lot in my bag and is wary of the strap breaking on me. The leather of the bag in general has "expanded" too, with lots of curling at the sides and bottom. I wish it could keep it's original shape and yet, that adds to the slouchy-ness so I cannot complain much!

The suede was slouchy to begin with and has stayed pretty much the same. The suede itself has worn well and so has the hardware. I use this bag at least 3 times a week.

What I don't like - the edges have become a little bit shiny and curled. Also, one of the rivets fell out.

I have taken some pictures with my iphone, but I think the pictures make the bag look more worn than it is. Hopefully, when I submit this, the pictures will show up.
