I have been walking on eggshells waiting for this, I am hoping they will do another ultrasound, even though the nurse said probably not. She said they would at least do the fetal heart monitor so I could hear he baby's heartbeat.
UGH!!!! I am going to have to rent or buy one of those so I can hear the heartbeat when I want. I can't wait! |

I would get excited for ultrasounds!! I loved seeing my baby move around, and see his little face, and toes
I loved getting the pictures too. I'm thinking about getting one framed. ![]() |

I'm a big fan of renting/buying one of those fetal heart monitors. My DH and I still laugh about how different the twins' heartbeats sounded; we could always tell which one we were listening to without any problem... our DD's heart sounded faster and "upbeat" while our DS's was slower and calmer, so we used to speculate about whether or not their personalities would be as different as their heart rates. So far our DD seems like the family extrovert while her twin is less effusive and seems more introspective. So if nothing else those doppler monitors, will give you a sense that you know your baby that much better before s/he is born.

I am cracking up at your thread as well. I am thinking about getting one too. Good luck. I dread going as I have to go to my reg ob appt every 2 weeks and have to have an internal check to see if the stitch is still safe and to the perinatal for sonograms every 2 weeka to see how big the baby is getting and how the cervix is holding up.I don't mind looking at my baby all the time.

Check out Baby Beat. I am currently renting a doppler from them, and it has allowed me to breath a sigh of relief on several occasions.

Hey everyone! Thanks for being excited with me. No ultrasound today but I did get to hear the heart beat on the monitor.
![]() Next month he is doing my level 2 to check on everything. He said he orders that for all his patients. Did you guys all have one? I'll be 20 weeks next time so I'm wondering if we'll be able to tell if it's a boy or girl. The sad thing is my boyfriend won't be there, he is on an assignment for 2 months. ![]() Everyone in his job has to go at some time, so he asked to go ahead and go so he could be here when the baby is born in late December or early January. Not much he can do here, so I agreed it was best for him to go ahead and go. Thankfully I have all you guys to share my excitement with!!! |

Glad you had a good appointment. At 20 weeks, especially a Level II they will definitely be able to look for and see the boy/girl part.

Glad you had fun! I had a level 2 ultrasound and so did everyone I know, so I think they are pretty standard.
I thought about renting one of those Doppler monitors too, but I was having a lot of other tests and monitoring, so I skipped it. I have a feeling I would have been using it and pestering the baby with it all the time, instead of only now & then like you're supposed to! |
