Now this one sounds FANTASTIC, and looks great too!!!
![]() I did some research online and LOVE IT (pricey as it is... but then again it's a purchase that will last few years so I'd like to buy it once and don't worry about it again). BUT it seems it's not available in US, whyyyyyyyyyy oh whyyyyyyyyyy!?!?!?! ![]()

LeMonde- you might want to check out Recaro car seats. We saw it after purchasing Britax First Class Si. The model that is available here in Mothercare is slightly bigger, up to 6 years old. The padding on the sides on the headrest is fantastic. Seems like one of the very few that has gone through side crash test. DH did all the research on car seat!

Funny you should mention Recaro nvie
DH (who is very much into Formula1 etc.) researched them too and we saw one recently and I have to admit I liked it more than Britax... However I'm a bit concerned with the latest recall... but keeping both in mind to be consider... oh my, not so much time left! LOL

Well, since I can't commit to any of the convertible car seats I decided to get the infant one after all
![]() If Peg Perrego Primo Viaggio is good for up to 30lbs / 30in - which I understand should be at least 9-12 months - I suppose it's not such a bad idea... Hope nobody had any major bad experience with this one...? I've read it's a bit heavier than others holding infants up to 30lbs (11lbs vs. 9lbs) but I think I can live with it, I'm not planning on carrying it more than from a car to the house etc. |

They are a bit heavy...my big burly husband even commented ...but then again I have nothing to compare it to. Since I may barely get a year's use due to lb limit I felt better about spending preowned dollars versus new dollars. If you get preowned just check the recall date as I think they had one in the early 2000s. The date of manufacture is on the seat so you can be sure it is not form that year. |

I used a Britax Marathon and then a Britax Regent. I had both installed by the California Highway Patrol, who offer a free installation service. Check with your state.

You should check out the Graco Nautilus. It is right up there with the Britax and has a cup holder and doesn't sit up on a base like the Marathon does. It can hold a child in the harness until 65 lbs then converts to a high back booster and then a backless, tethered booster up to 100 lbs ! I have 4 of them and they are great ! Steel reinforced comfy etc. The kids love them !
