I'm with fishfood.
The ORBIT BABY hands down and up.
It's a million times of awesomeness. It's so well designed and it looks good too. :)

Many congratulations.

We got the Peg Perego travel system, and really liked it. The stroller can be used to have the baby facing you or away from you. The handlebar thingy (!) just flips over.

Then when our son was older we got the Britax Boulevard -has got great reviews and we are very happy with this seat.

I chose the Maxi Cosi cabrio car seat + isofix base. It was super easy to slide it onto the isofix base. The base itself had this indicator that remained red if the seat wasn't clipped and secured on properly. The best thing about it was that i could take the cart seat and slide it onto the Quinny Zapp frame to use it as a pram.

I am using Aprica car seat, from newborn until 4 years old. you can check it out HERE
i've been using it since my baby was born. Now my baby is 13 mos.
And this car seat is very very safe. IMHO it's the safest.

I second the Orbit as well. We haven't used it yet, but I installed the base this week and love that you can put it in with the baby facing you and then easily slide the seat until it clicks and is rear facing.

After I read your post I checked out the Maxi Cosi online and it had some great review. But when I went to the store I was told that it doesn't fit the snap-n-go.

We love our Graco Safeseat. It's sort of like this one: http://www.albeebaby.com/graco-infan...ct-nectar.html
DS just turned 1 and he's still riding in it. We're going to be really sad when he outgrows it. He's an inch away from reaching the height limit. It goes up to 30lbs and 32 inches. It's great because he falls asleep in it and we can just take him in the house or wherever we're going and he still gets his nap. We have the Maclaren easy traveler to push it around and it's got great steering and a huge basket (that you need to access from the front), but great, nonetheless.

i had the maxi-cosi mico infant carseat for my son and intend to use it again this time around. compared to other infant carseats i have seen, the mico has really great head and neck support which i love. it also clipped into my bugaboo so i used it a lot for walks or on errands. i don't know when you are due, but the muff for the carseat was amazing for winter. it literally comes up to the baby's neck and cushions it's head so it kept my son extremely warm and cozy. hope this helps.

I used Graco infant car seat up to 6 months or 22 lbs whichever then I switched over to Cosco Alpha Omega 3 in 1 car seat that can be rear and forward facing for my second child. My first one just switched over to a 2 in 1 car seat.

I agree. I have the Graco Snugride32, which is nice b/c it fits infants up to 32 lbs. instead of the usual 20lbs. My DS is 2 months old and is almost 15lbs., so I'm glad we opted for the bigger carseat. I also have the Britax Marathon for both of my older kids.

We were informed that Maxi-Cosi's seats do not fit all cars Therefore, we are looking at Britax First Class

Not all seats fit in all cars, this goes for any brand. It's important to bring the car that you'll most likely be driving the baby in with you while shopping. Many (if not most) stores will let you take out a seat and see if it fits in your car. ...Same goes for buying strollers. Take your car with you to see how it fits in the trunk and how good you can get it in and out of there.

We have the Orbit. LOVED the infant seat, hate the toddler car seat. The infant one was nice and deep and cushy.

Also have a Britax Boulevard, which we picked because of it's safety reputation.

Also tried a Radian, couldn't get it installed rear-facing in my car. Just tried an Evenflo Triumph for a few days and that seemed decent.

Thank you all for your suggestions I went shopping for the car seat three times since then and to my great disappointment didn't like any of the convertible ones (still hoping to 'skip' the infant one). I just don't get it why they all look such low quality with all that plastic, cheap looking finish, awful snaps (broke my nail while opening it lol) and I just can't look at them any more :( DH had similar reaction and quickly came up with the idea of having a leather cover custom made How come they make such cool strollers but not car seats... does safety really have to be 'ugly cheap'? LOL
Anyway, I think we'll just get Britax Advocate SC and have it over with...

As for the infant car seat I'm not going to buy one until I have my baby and decide that I absolutely can't live without that purchase. We bought the stroller - Stokke Xplory - and I'd have to choose one of the three that would work with its adaptor: Maxi Cosi Mico, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, or Graco Snugride. Will see when the time comes for the final decision...
