Don't feel bad! I am at 4 months with my first and seem to have "popped" overnite! At 2 months, most of what you are experiencing is bloat & fluid retention. Nothing really you can do about it, except maybe watch the salt intake. It's your body's way of preparing the womb for baby! It's disheartening to look in the mirror & see that pooch, but just enjoy it. Nine months will have come & gone before you know it!

it's not the baby yet, he's only the size of a kidney bean at this point. More likely some fluid retention.
Most people show around 4-6 months, at 4 months the baby is more the size of an avocado. |

Look at it another way -- it could mean that you're so skinny that even that little bit of bloat is showing!

Thanks everyone.. that is what i figured, it was just bloat, but it is so frustrating that my pants are a bit tight already. LOL. I will try to drink more water. up until yesterday water tasted like poo to me and made me want to gag. i'm happy that has turned around. :) |

I'm the same as you sosti. I'm only 2 months with my first baby and I'm showing already. I went from a 26 inches waist to a 34 at my 5-6 weeks. It hasn't grown much since but I figure it's probably bloating.

the same thing happened to me! I got thick around the middle so early and I swear I was showing. I also started eating regular meals tho too! lol so that could have had something to do with it.

Yeah, it could happen with your second but unlikely with your first. I agree that it is probably water weight.
On a side note, when I was about 2 months along with my second (and I had lost all my weight with my first), a stranger in a store asked my daughter about having a sibling. I think that is so funny because in this day and age, I am afraid to mention someone being obviously very far along for fear I will offend someone who is not really pregnant. |

I don't think you can really predict when a woman's going to show, how she'll carry and all that. I was very lean going into my pregnancy (not small overall, but with much more muscle mass than fat) and I did not really show until about 4 months (w/twins)... My entire pregnancy people just kept commenting on how small I was (and I hated it because I wanted to look like I was carrying twins, lol).
So, no I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. That said, if --at any point in my pregnancy-- I had suddenly & inexplicably gained a lot of weight I would have seen my ob/gyn immediately just to rule out hypertension and pre-eclampsia (after 24 weeks or so!). |

I was in mat clothes at 9 WEEKS!!! You could totaly tell I was pregnant. I never went through that "I look fat" stage. I went from 0 to pregnant overnight. I am now 23 weeks and am all belly. I am still much bigger then a friend who is due the exact same time. Just remember that everyone is different. If you go on a preggers web site and look at belly pics from woman you will see that everyone's body is so different.
