I am a mother of 6. I firmly recommend carrying just one bag - and not a diaper bag! As a mom, your hands are always full and busy (!!!), so I say the less things to carry and keep track of, the better.

There are so many beautiful purses are are perfectly scaled to the needs of a mother. For an afternoon out with my baby, I would be sure that the following items were in my bag:

two diapers

small foldable changing pad (alternatively, those really nice disposable handtowels from upscale establishments make great disposable changing pads)

baggie with a dozen wipes

a small 'chew toy' or two

a lightweight blanket

Those items, added to a wallet, cosmetics bag and maybe a water bottle fit snugly into a large purse. (I breastfed all of my children, so no need for bottles, pacifiers, etc.)

Needless to say, your bag would ideally be something that stays on your shoulder or is crossbody. Handheld or clutch-only bags are a no-no.

I have a new little one and am not into carrying more than necessary! Def one bag, and make it a big one! I like messenger style :)

One stylish bag. The more kids you have the less you carry around. With your first baby you're carrying around the whole nursey. Then you learn better.

I carry a diaperbag and one of my (very fashionable) handbags. I agree w/ MammaByrdie..the more kids u have, the less u carry. For my boys, a sippy cup, snacks and a couple pull ups work. My daughter, has the diaper bag full of stuff haha.

I also carry only one bag when I have baby w/me. I carry my beloved handbags when on my own. I keep the (Not Rational Hansel) diaper bag stocked with baby stuff and then just stuff my wallet and phone in there when I have baby with me.

I have 3 boys (one is a baby) and carry just one bag... I use the LV Naviglio Damier Azur as my diary diaper bag... holds a lot of stuff, has compart so you can organize everything inside... Love it!

Just one. Since baby, I don't carry much of my own stuff anymore! Just wallet, keys and phone and a lipstick I keep in the pocket of the baby bag. I carry my non-baby-bag purses when I'm alone (which is hardly ever right now).

I usually only carry my purse, and sometimes not even that! I keep diapers and wipes in my car (at all times).. along with a bottle and a sippy cup, both pre-made and on call. Aside from that, a granola bar for my 2 year old. My kids are 9 months and 2.5... newborns are a different story (or for me, they were anyways.)

I don't carry a diaper bag because I pretty much never change my kids in public. I find those changing stations in bathrooms absolutely disgusting and I'd rather walk to my car and change my girls in the drivers seat than put them on one of those things... even with those "diaper changers" that come with diaper bags.

Same for me. I hated using public restrooms changing tables, so often I would either change him in the car.

I use to carry a HUGE diaper bag with my stuff in the side pocket. Now I carry a regular handbag with my stuff plus his (snack baggie with juice box, diapers, wipes, sometimes a change of clothes).

I was always a Balenciag girl before I had my daughter but I am too scared to use them now because I don't want them to get messed up. So, I bought a chic leopard print Brighton bag that can be used as a diaper bag without looking like a diaper bag.

I have a Ju Ju Be (and tons of other diaper bags) Be All which I use all of the time, it has a separate section for my personal stuff which I love I don't have to keep digging among baby things just to get my wallet out.
