I have to tell you all today that we're having a little girl. I'm so excited!
I have wanted to know for the past week so badly, that i couldn't wait for 9am to come this morning. Baby Golden (her nickname) was lying face down with her spine to my belly button. I thought she was asleep, so in the back of my mind, i planned on waking her in order to have the sex confirmed before leaving. She kicked and as i watched the monitor, i saw her turn onto her side, then her back. It was amazing! The clarity of the scan was also amazing. Everything could be seen clearly, and as the sonographer pointed out body parts, my excitement beat her to it and i was racing ahead of her. It was so funny, that she started to laugh. I asked if she could tell me the sex and she told me she would at the end of the scan. It was very clear, because there wasnt any 'jewels' as she put it dangling between Golden' legs, so i said its a girl and she said yes. My youngest daughter was 100% certain that i was having a girl. She told me on Monday before i flew out that i should forget about the baby being a boy, because she was guaranteeing Golden was a girl. I can't wait to see her face when i tell her that the little sister she has been dreaming of for years will be hers in Feb! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks everyone. I had the best sleep lastnight. I was so exhausted after travelling through the night, then running back and forth from the hospital, then struggling to sleep because my hotel walls are made of paper.lol
I'm still on cloud 9 with baby, so happiness to everyone expecting or not! x |

Thanks Ladies. I hope you are all as excited and happy with your babies (sex) as I am. I saw my daughter today and I told her. Her eyes widened and her face lit up, then she smiled and said, 'I told you the baby was a girl!'. I told her before i left her, that she'll be home to have her little sister around. (She's in a boarding school at the moment, but not for long). She cried as i left and my heart sank, but i didn't cry, because i thought of Golden (Khimara) and how excited she will be when she's finally home at the end of the year.
I also visited my two sons, who were really happy to see me. I went with apprehension, because i know they hated the idea of being left in a boarding school, but they were light, excited and really looking well. The older one (15) asked how the baby was and i said 'she's fine'. He said, 'oh its a girl' with a big grin on his face, then the younger one (9) re-iterated 'its a girl'. My older son said, make sure i leave Africa before December, because it will be a really bad idea if she's born here! I laughed and told him not to worry, i'm going to make sure i'm outta here. Baby has been quiet since flying in last night, but now she's kicking me like no one's business. I guess making up for yesterday! |
