Talking Watching them learn a mile a minute :) Your baby smile?
Emily was playing on the floor this morning, the kids were at school, I was quietly work on a writing project and I glanced up....

...the sun was streaming in the window, she was stretched out on the floor, on her belly...she was playing, alternating, with 3 or 4 toys...smiling and and exploring with each one in turn. She hit something with music and stood to dance, she spied her 'baby' and toddled over to pick up her up, she hugged her and manhandled her into the doll stroller, with a quick glance and smile in my direction, off she went to give her baby a walk.

Emily is my 4th, but it is still amazing :)

Share your baby smile....

^Aww.. so cute! Emily is growing up!

Here's mine:

DS hears a loud noise that startles him. He looks at me and says.. "What happened?" and then he shrugs his shoulders and goes, "I dunno!"

He's learning more and more words everyday, it's such a pleasant surprise.

My baby is 14 weeks and he just started smiling a few weeks ago. Early one morning I went to his cot and found him awake but not crying (rare!). I gave him a kiss on his forehead and he gave me the sweetest smile I've ever seen and coo-ed at me. Aww...

Well, my baby is 4.5 years old and is just recovering from what is probably the swine flu. He slept much of the last 24 hours and his fever finally went away last night about 9 pm (5 days after it started).

He got up from the couch after barely moving from there in days and goes to grab his magnadoodle, looks at me seriously and says, " You know Mom, the number of the day is 17 and Dorothy is spelled D-O-R-O-T-H-Y." (He must have been dreaming about Sesame Street.

How he went from so sick to , "Ok, let's draw and play!" seconds upon waking. It made me smile to see him back to his old self again and it amazes me how FAST little kids recuperate!

Oh, and then downed a glass of milk and said, "Do you need pancake mix to make pancakes?" I think he's hungry! LOL I usually make a flax/soy pancake from a mix by Hodgson Mill, but I think some good old plain pancakes might be easier on his tummy for his first meal in 5 days (besides a bowl of goldfish and a few arrowroot cookies while he was sick).

Awww... these stories are all making me smile.
I love the new noises Marin is making. Her new name is pterodactyl (sp?).... she lets out this big shriek and thinks she is hilarious! We say, "you're not a dinosaur.... you're a baby!" It's so funny.
She and DH have this game when I am holding her that is really funny too. She will stare at him until he glances at her and then she will give him a huge smile and bury her head into my shoulder. She will play this game all night with him!

My little guy will be 10 weeks tomorrow, so he doesn't "do" much, but here is a picture of his sweet little grin!

Ireland has just learned to Moo. She cracks me up, because she has a pop-up book that her grandmother gave her that has a pop-up cow with a button that makes it moo and every morning she goes right to that book and says "Mooooooooooo" then finds the page and touches the cow so I'll push the button for her. It makes me smile every time!

Loving all the stories :)

This morning I couldn't find the remote...I was looking and muttering to myself...Emily was watching me with a puzzled look on her face...I said, "Emmy mommy can't find the remote. Where's the remote?" I gave up and sat down with the laptop and she went to play...she's so independent, she oftens pads off to the kitchen or family room...a few minutes later she comes down the hall with the remote in her hand, walks to me and hands to me and turns around to go play....

me:

It blows me away how much she understands.

Oh that reminds me, JUST before Henry got sick, he was breathing in through his nose. He was experimenting with all sorts of sounds he could make doing that. Then he figured out how to make it a snort. So... he would be playing doing whatever, and snorting all over the place. It really sounded like a little piglet was running around the house.

My baby is only 6 weeks old and just learning to smile. I love it when her dimples come out.

My 5 year old is hilarious, he loves to make people laugh. He's learning to read and is already a good speller, so once in a while he will spell something purposefully wrong. He will then ask me if he is right, and when I say yes (because I wasn't paying attention or just playing with him) he says no mommy I'm wrong and laughs. It's just a silly thing but so funny.

the other day DS kept covering his eyes with his hand and then removing the hand quickly and saying something i couldn't make it. after the fourth or fifth time, i got worried and asked DH, is there something in his eye? DH watched him for a minute and said, he's playing PEEKABOO with you! haha, after i got out of worried-mama mode, i realized he was trying to cover his face like we do and saying "i see-o!" when we started playing back he started laughing and smiling like "THEY FINALLY GOT IT!"

My DD is 6mth now and acting just like a little toddler (who can not walk LOL) She shakes her head no if you ask her a question and she just wants to learn about everything. You can just see her eyes light up when there is something new to explore.

She is my 2nd and it is still amazing I agree Tink...there isn't anything better then to watch them learn and play and smile and just be them.

Thanks for starting this thread...all the posts made me smile and get teary
