So DS, 6 mo, just cust his first two teeth last week. About 5 days apart. I've tried just about everything...Hylands Teething Tablets, teething rings, teething pacifier, Nuby chewer with ice/teething biscuits, Orajel, Frozen washcloths, tylenol/motrin etc and nothing seems to help his pain. It seems when he's using the teethers/washcloths etc he's fine but once he puts them down he's miserable again. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try??

My DD is the same way! She gets some relief from a combination of Hyland's tablets, motrin and orajel. She also really likes to chew on regular pacifiers...Like pinkhearts said, it will get better, and then it will get bad again. My pedi said that the first teeth are the worst, and it's supposed to be easier after that, but it hasn't been true for us.

The one thing that finally worked for DS is a teething ring that you freeze but it also has a vibrating mechanism in it so when they bite down, it vibrates against their gums. DS loves the thing though it did take a day or two for him to figure it out. I got it at Babies R Us for $ 6.99.

might sound crazy but i heard from a friend yesterday that the swiss make babies wear some kind of amber necklaces to help with teething. sounds a little mad but the swiss usually know what they are doing.

^I've also recently heard by a few friends a little rum on their gums...I have NOT tried that. Just heard about it.

With my daughter, teething tablets and the occasional dose of tylenol is all she ever needed. My son is more challenging. We found this at target: http://www.amazon.com/Gentle-Natural...5111974&sr=8-1 It really helps him. We give him a dose and the crying stops. I'm also going to check out this vibrating teething ring! |
