Default Surprise Surprise- I am joining the club

Well I can finally let the cat out the bag.....(denial is over, reality check).
I will be 4 months this coming Monday with a due date of 12/28/08...
This is a rough one for me as I have to have a cerclage this coming Friday.. I am scared to death- although I had to have one with my now 11 year who will be 12 this August. When I had her I was put out and was ok with that. Now a new doctor- they want to do a spinal block.. ME not want to do it.. at ALL..
I have been battling some anxiety issues after stopping the pill after 5+ years....but since I have been pregnant- most of that went away...but you know they are resurfacing.....not like before but just general nerves..
I never wanted one child, but because it was always to much for me to go through to maintain a pregnancy, so I just let it be, but someone above had something else in store for me....a got a little angel growing inside of me..
ALthough I am having some major cramping and discomfort which the doctor said is normal, and its been so SO long since I delivered my daughter I just can not really remember..
Anybody else here had to have or need to get a cerclage.. I need some hugs.... I am thinking about running and hiding and not getting it and staying in bed to December ( I know I cant but I am being a scardy cat right now )
(and p.s- the girls have already gained 5 pounds each and i still got 5 months to go)

That is just plain ridiculous! (What your doc said.) ITA with you. If we weren't supposed to have kids after 35, then we wouldn't be able to! Props to your grandma! Although I can't say I'd want to be pg with twins at 45... makes me tired just thinking about it! Congrats to you and try to relax. : )

Congratulations!!! You should join the Babycenter message boards, there is a very long thread about cerclages and you will find alot of support in there!

ETA- oops that is in the august babies boards, but I am sure that you can either start one for december or one already exists. :)

First of all, congratulations!

I just had my baby at 36. Around here (Silicon Valley), that's pretty young! Pretty much all the moms in my mom's group are mid to late 30s, and one of my doctors was like, "You're a baby," since she had her first at 41!! So don't worry about that (though a few of us have discussed that the post-baby sleep deprivation is a lot harder than it would have been 10-15 years ago.)

I definitely had some cramping and discomfort during the pregnancy, not all the time, seemed to go in phases. I'd get all worried about it and it would turn out to be nothing. Hopefully yours is just the same -- your body getting loosened up to make some space for the baby as s/he grows.

I haven't had a cerclage, so no help there. I had a LEEP procedure a few years ago, so we were watching for cervical weakness, but it didn't materialize. Good luck to you - I hope it's not too uncomfortable.

I know it's easy to stress about everything while you're pregnant, and people telling you not to really doesn't help. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat. I have a whole pool of other 36+ year old moms that I can go to with questions for you!!
