Congratulations! 36? You are still young! Thanks to moms like us (aka AMA Advanced Maternal Age) those perinatologists are making TONS of money!! I don't understand why yours would say what he said! Anyway, everything will be fine, it's good that you are seeing the specialist. Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

THanks all !!!!!!
I really appreciate the well wishes and support.....I am not to worried and I do know that I am not old. I can still hang with the 20 year olds..lol.
I agree the perinatologist are making a killing. They have lowered the age for woman in normal range to become mothers- so anyone over 34 has to go see a perinatal...hmmm
I didnt get really any morning sickness at all- maybe once or twice I threw up...and felt nausous during the day....I am retaining lots of fluid now because my belly is a poking out...
I had a cerclage before and I never even felt it after it was put in... December..oh December..
I am one of those woman who dont fancy being pregnant, but I LOVE kids...

Congratulations - 36 too old? Nonsense! I was done at 26, so I don't have personal experience and don't pretend to. Too old, in my opinion (and only in my opinion, which is worth something only to me!) is my family doctor, who is pregnant with her second child. It has taken her years - she was taking fertility drugs, etc., and finally became pregnant using a donor egg and her husband's sperm. She is (get this) at least 48 - she looks good and is in good shape, and again, it certainly doesn't matter what my opinion is - but I think she's nuts.

You, on the other hand, are a spring chicken, my dear! Good luck and have a fabulous baby!

Congrats! Don't worry I am 35 and pregnant with my first. My doc was very excited for me and said we'd take it one month at a time. Everything has been wonderful so far. Hugs to you!

Surprisingly I didn't freak during the procedure. I had worked myself up to where I thought I'd have 30 panic attacks. I sat there and remained calm while I got not 1 but 2 needles in my back and the last was the worst. Immediately my toes went numb, but I stayed calm. I worked myself up for nothing. I tell you I contemplated being put to sleep because I was a bunch of nerves. I could feel the pressure of them pulling and tugging but no pain. I am relaxing and recovering well although yesterday I did go out briefly to my church to get a fish dinner. Now I have no pain (knock on a tree) and no cramping in which I was told I would. I was given vicoden and indicin for cramping that I was told to take for 7 days. I have yet to take it, I guess I should, but since I don't have the cramps I thought it was a waste.anyway I am in bed relaxing at a relatives on my blackberry. Thanks all for all the well wishes.

I would have been offended, and I would have let him rightly know!!
I think what he was trying to say (and it's really the truth) is that you're a little over the "Ideal" age for having babies (which would be in your 20's) but I wouldn't say "old" or anything like that! I say, you are how old you feel! That's what really matters!
My great great Grandma had 19 kids, and she stopped only a few years before menopause. Anyways, I think you should ignore that doctor!!!

Hi nat. I am doing fine today. A little crampy all of sudden. I guess I should have taken my indocin.so I am laying here on my side on my blackberry!!
And everyone the doctor that told me I was past the maternal fetal age, I think he was just letting me know why I had to see them so often, he turned out to be such a nice man during surgery. The were really patient with me as you know I was an A$$. I will be the first to admit that. Even the anthes. Was great. I went back and forth between being put to sleep and staying up.he told me at the end he thought he was going to have to put me out as I was so nervous. He was like you did good girl. Once again thanks so much to all of you for all the well wishes (I feel like now I need a new bag, lol chanel modern chain tote ew perhaps)
To let you ladies know I will be registered at the chanel boutique and neiman marcus in Tysons corner. Tee hee hee. That addiction is still there.

Thanks kimberf, I will be in contact with you shortly.
Pursefanatic, I see we are about the same amount of months, we can hold hands and chat. If that's ok with you ?
