What seems to work the best? I'm very petite and only 3 months, but my belly is starting to grow like CRAZY. I'm afraid I'll get tons of stretch marks, so I want suggestions!! Thanks in advance!!

Stretch marks are from genetics, you'll either get them or you won't, it's all dependent on how your skin stretches and the elasticity. As far as the itching cocoa butter did nothing for me, the thing that worked best for me was Tummy Honey Butter, it's honey based and it doesn't rub in all the way, it's best used at night since you need to shower after using it. I put it on at night and shower in the morning and my stomach feels smooth all day. You'll probably get 1,001 answers to this question, all of these wonderful ladies here have something that worked best for them.

I am not sure where this originated from but my mom swears that Bag Balm was the reason she didn't get stretch marks when she was pregnant with me. Keep in mind this was almost 30 years ago but she didn't get any stretch marks. Like PurseFanatic said, it was probably b/c of genetics however those extra precautions can't hurt.

I really believe that stretch mark prevention creams and oils work, contrary to some doctors and forum opinions. I have stretch marks on my boobs and butt from a growth spurt in my teens, so I was positive I'd get them once I got pregnant. My mom and all of her 6 sisters have bad stretch marks on their stomachs from pregnancy, even my dad has stretch marks. My grandmother on the other had 11 children and has no stretch marks although she and I have completely different skin types. Anyway, I've been using a variety of creams and oils since 5 wks pregnant and at 36 1/2 weeks no marks at all. I believe keeping my weight gain at 21 lbs so far has helped as well. Anyway my favorite stretch mark prevention oil is Mothers Special blend from Whole Foods. Good luck and I'm still crossing my fingers that I will not get any either in my last week or 2.

i used cocoa butter and still got them...i used other stuff too and still got them...i think it might help, but in the end it's about genetics. all my sisters have stretch marks...and i have friends that didn't get one...

I wonīt suggest creams (I think the cheap brands work just the same) but drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated from the inside, I think thatīs more important.

You could try Palmer's Cocoa Butter. A co-worker of mine gave me a bottle when I was pregnant. I did slather it on occasionally (a few nights a week), and I didn't get any stretch marks on my belly. I did end up getting stretch marks on my bum though, probably grew a lot within the last few months of pregnancy lol, and unfortunately I did not think to put cocoa butter on my bum. haha

I like Palmers too, but the ingredients they list on the back of the bottle are a slightly different order of importance then what they advertise on the front label. So I got a bit turned off by the brand. I still used my Palmers for my day cream because it smells pretty good. |

Thanks so much everyone for your input! It's probably genetics, but I figure it can't hurt to try
I think I'm going to try the Mothers Special blend of I can find it :) And the Palmers Cocoa Butter won't hurt, either! And thanks Nola- I'll be sure to stay VERY hydrated
