Default Scared of getting pregnant

I know im not ready atm, first of all I need a better education, a job and have things seattled but still.

Im so scared of deciding to get pregnant and then regret it when it's too late. Im scared that I will have panicattacks and just want to cut the baby out of my tummy when it makes me feel ill.

Most of all im scared of giving birth I guess. If I will make it through the pain - Cuz I've seen pictures in my head having so much pain and so much panic that I just get a heartattack and die

I mean I know you can get stuff for the pain like epidural but doesnt that hurt like crazy too?

Like I said I know i'm not ready but it feels like I never will be..

Sorry I just had to get some thought out of my head I guess..

I don't know ANYONE that wanted to cut their baby out of their belly while pregnant. Yes, giving birth is painful, but the exhilaration one feels in giving birth and seeing that little person after 9 months of waiting far outweighs the pain. We're trying for our second child, and the pain of labor is the last thing on my mind. If you think you might regret it, you're not ready to have a child. When you're ready there will be no regret.

My goodness! Giving birth is painful, yes...But never in the time that I was in labor did I feel like I was going to die or have a heart attack. It wasn't that bad. I forgot about the pain the minute that I saw my daughter. It just didn't hurt anymore, and I didn't care. I had my daughter in my arms and that's all that mattered to me.

Can I ask how old you are?

out of curiosity, how old are you? Are you married?

It's awesome you know you're not ready so it seem slike everything is fine
You'll know when you;'re ready and I'd bet that most of us had some anxiety of the unknown just like you do.
Will it hurt?
Is it freaky?
etc. . . . .

OK, I see you're 19 yrs old, that explains a lot.

I am pretty positive you'll be a little calmer about this in 5 years or so

Oh, at 19 you have lots and lots of time. There is no need to rush having children because there is nothing worse for a parent or child than parents who weren't ready for a baby. There will come a time when you will likely have found the right person and when the desire for a baby will overcome any fear of pain you might have.

Having a baby is no picnic. No one should tell you it is. But it is well worth it for those who want children. And if you never feel like having children? That's okay, too. A lifestyle that includes kids is not right for everyone.

Just like my feelings about clubs have changed. . . I'd rather go through natural childbirth than have to go to clubs every weekend again! LOL!

Bay - I don't want children and part of the reason is because I don't want to be pregnant. The idea of growing something living inside of me disgusts me. I don't think all people were meant to be parents. If you still want children when you're older but don't want to be pregnant you should consider adopting. There are so many children that need a safe and supportive home. I think that if I change my mind about having a family, I may adopt some day myself.

I completely agree, carrying children is not the right thing for everyone.
It's awesome if you know you're this person

no reason to panic you said yourself your not ready yet so ive it time no point stressing over what isn't happening.

Plus if child birth was really that horrific (I'm not saying it's not painful) nobody would have kids and people certainly wouldn't have a second + child

Honestly, I didn't like being pregnant. I felt like a weird science experiment. Nor did I bond with the babies at ALL before birth. I was sure I had made a mistake and would be a horrible parent, but once they arrived my feelings did a 180. Sometimes it takes new moms a little while after the birth to bond with the baby, but I felt it immediately. And you literally forget the pain as soon as the baby arrives. Of course you don't forget that it was painful, but you cannot FEEL it in your mind like you remember an injury. That's why people have more than one child!

If you love children and you want children, I believe your feelings will likely change. When you go through it yourself it isn't nearly as scary as it seems from a distance.

I was scared to death to have a baby! My mom had my sister suddenly, and I happened to be standing RIGHT THERE to view it all head on!! I was 8 at the time. I knew I always wanted kids, but didnt want to go through that at all. And when it came time to have my own, the worst part was the IV. The epidural didnt hurt at all. Afterward, just take those little pills they give you and you wont be in any pain. It was so worth it. I'd do it a bunch more times!

If I can do it, ANYBODY can do it!!
