Default Sad and funny at the same time!
Today my 10-year-old had to come from home school because of a high fever. Long story short it's not oink flu but another nasty bug. This means no trick-or-treating. To put this in perspective, our neighborhood has a huge Halloween party and it's really fun. She has been looking forward to this for weeks. Through tears and hugs she tells me it's so unfair. I tell her we'll do a girls day next week. She looks at me and says does that include a mani/pedi. I say yes. And lunch? I say yes. And new UGG boots? I had to stop and realize she is so working me but still say yes. I am in so much trouble. Even with a fever of 103 girlfriend is still thinking about shoes.

that is so cute!!and yeah you are in trouble i hope she feels better soon!

and maybe you guys should dress up and do a lil trick or treating at home...let her knock on different doors [depends on how many people there at your house] and then give her some candy. just a thought. poor thing, sucks to be sick right now :(

There's still hope for trick or treating! The CDC guidelines say 24 hours fever free with no fever-reducers means they're OK to go to school/daycare, so I would think it's fine for much less contact trick or treating activities. So she's got till tomorrow afternoon! That might get you out of your new financial commitments too, LOL!

Oh my gosh, I think you and I have the same daughter. That is exactly how my daughter at about 10 years old would work me. Funny how kids develop that trait so quickly
