Default Pregnancy Breakouts

Ever since I reached about 5 weeks my face has been breaking out like I'm a teenager again. Has this happened to anyone else and what are you using to clear it up? TIA!!!!!!

I broke out my entire first trimester. Nothing can really help hormonal acne I've found...and I'm not about to throw down big $$$ for "pregnacy approved" skin care. I just wash with cetaphil at night and the Neutrogena Foaming wash (new one, it's blue) in the morning. Once or twice a week I'd used the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask...and that's kinda helped dry my skin out a bit.

oh gosh I had the worst acne the last 3 months- its not starting to relax and go away. I didnt have this with my first child....
I just use Dove and thats it- I find what helps my skin is a quick wipe with alcohol which helps me take away the redness...

I also had terrible acne pretty much all over my face. I was so sick though that I barely left the house so it wasn't like anyone saw it, lol. Anyway, I went to a dermatologist and was told that nothing is 100% safe to use on acne during pregnancy. There is a cat B drug called Financia (spelling?) and she said that over the counter benzoyl peroxide is ok. Anyway, I left mine alone (no meds) and since I made 4 months I've had tha best clearist skin in my life.

Yes. Most of my breakouts were on my forhead. I think after the 1st trimester they slow down a little because I havn't got any new breakouts for about two weeks now. I just kept to my regular daily routine when it came to washing my face nothing special.

Around 5 weeks my chest started to break out horribly (I've never in my life had chest acne) and then around 8 weeks that went away and it moved to my face. It's way worse than it ever was in high school! I was using cetaphil but I didn't feel like it really cleaned my face so I switched to Aveeno calming foaming facewash and it seems to be helping some finally!

i'm breaking out little by little right now. Yuck! I was told it's safe to continue with Proactiv so I'm using that right now, but doesn't seem to be helping that much.

honestly - the best cure I've ever found for bacne has been Dial antibacterial soap. (The funky smelling, liquid orange stuff?) It would dry my back out and reduce some of the breakouts. I've also used Dial on my chin when my breakouts have gotten out of control.

Really? I must try that! Can I use the bar soap instead of the liquid soap? My DH already uses the Dial antibacterial bar soap...

With my first pregnancy my acne flared up horrible in the first trimester! It was just awful, I used cetaphil about 3 or four times a day and tried to keep my skin oil free. I was scared to use anything. After the first trimester it faded, then came back again in the last trimester. As soon as I had my baby though they disappeared!! It was the craziest thing! We took pictures in the hospital a couple hours after I gave birth and my face was perfect! With my second pregnancy no breakouts whatsoever so go figure!

honestly, I haven't tried it with the bar soap...only with the liquid soap (the kind that is normally used for hand washing).
