Hey Irainei. did you have your LO at Huntington? I recognize the hat and blankie. I delivered there too!

Coach, sorry i wasn't specific. The CSection site is what burns. The catheter (only because they placed it where it shouldn't be placed) scared me.

Wasabi- I had him at St. Joe's...maybe it's an OC thing? LOL

My C-section site still burns if I decide to sleep on my left side and then I wake up and try to get up...oddest thing I swear...and then after I stand up for a bit, it doesn't burn anymore.

How's everyone doing?! Coach, I hope you deliver soon!

B's now more or less on a schedule, we've been successful with waking him every 3 hours and he wakes himself up at night every 4 hours. Such a relief! BFing is going well, but I have to start him taking a bottle this weekend because we're going to be at a wedding next weekend and won't be around to feed him (I'd bring him except that DH and I are in the wedding party). I am having issues about the whole bottle thing for some reason...but my MIL keeps telling me I need to because I'm still not getting enough rest at night. I'm hoping he'll take to the bottle (I don't think it'll be a prob as I use a nipple shield to feed him, so he's used to the fake nipple feeling)! He's such a good baby...feeling heavier every day...we think he's up to 6.5lbs by now...last week, he was up to 6 already!

irainei he is such a handsome little guy! I love the name too, so cute! I know exactly what you mean about clothes, lol. We did not have a single newborn sized item when Emery arrived. We figured he would be a bit bigger so everything was 3 month sizes and no way would that fit him. My mother had a great time going to buy him all kinds of tiny little outfits.

We've just been bonding like crazy and snuggling as much as possible. Hubby took a few weeks off and my parents are here helping out so it's been a wonderful transition and we take Emery this week for his first Dr appt. Here is a pick of the little guy. We had the photographer come take his pics last Thursday and I'm dying to get them back in a few weeks.

I can't wait to hear your stories and see your pics J and Coach. Take it easy these last few days and keep us posted

That's crazy we all had C sections and within the same few days! I'm so glad everyone is healthy and doing good!! Take care ladies and little lovies
And big congrats to all of you ladies! I hope your babies are doing well. How's everyone sleeping? Son eats every 2 hrs so no sleep here!

Lily Madeline was born October 13 at 11:24 am. She was somewhat ontime. :) Night of the 12th around (830pm) I felt contractions and I panicked because I sooo didn't feel prepared for what was to come. We drove to the hospital and the contractions were coming every 8 to 10 minutes and as each contraction came it got more painful. The OB decided we should be checked in. I received my epidural at around midnight and pictocin (sp) shortly after that. I was only 2cm dilated. at 7am i was fully dilated but she had yet to drop. at 7:30am the OB popped my water and found a little myconium(sp). He said that I can try for a vaginal birth until 9:30am if nothing happens I will have a C-Section. I tried my best to push, at one point they stopped the epidural. Good Lord!! that was painful.
at 10:50am there was no change. We OK'd the C-SEction and 10 minutes later I was rolled into surgery. At 11:24am Lily Madeline was screaming her lungs out. The neonatal team was on standby because of the myconium - all is well. She didn't ingest any poop. When they took her out, the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Although I was groggy from the anesthesia, I was crying hysterically when I was told of her umbilical cord.

C-Sections are no joke. I thought the catheter was the worst part. No one told me about the "burning" pain. Its been a week and i'm glad for pain meds. I was hesitant to take a narcotic because of what it may do to the breastmilk. I was assured it was safe. at anyrate, it's been a week. recovering. C-Section mommies, anyone feel their joints ache? i feel like i just did a major workout.
No doubt csections are major. I learned from experience to ask for the cath after my spinal. It hurts too much! The spinal hurt like hell! I think the pre numbing shot was what stung like a thousand bees.

I don't recall any soreness in my joints, just the incision area.

Just stopping in to see if anyone else had any updates

B decided within the past two days that he hates his pack n play and prefers to sleep in his crib LOL. He's adapted to night vs. day so I've been more comfortable keeping to "his" schedule. He's slowly growing out of his newborn clothes. I actually have him in a 0-3m onesie today. Although still pretty big on him, I was definitely excited! Now just trying to figure out when to switch to size 1 diapers...Oh and he took to the bottle easily! Just now trying to figure out a workable pumping schedule, but it's so hard...and I need to build up my stockpile...

Anyone babywearing? I was intrigued, so I ended up getting a Baby K'Tan. Going to try it out tomorrow...

Irainei.. I am soo jealous of your schedule! Grace still isn't on anything close to a schedule! I'm BF'ing and everything was going well until we went to the doc last week for her Hep B and I asked them to weigh her also, she had only gained an ounce in a week and a half! I was devastated! She had started spitting up a lot during and after feeding and she wasn't waking up to feed, I would try to wake her up, but man she was stubborn most times. Doc gave me meds for reflux, and to help to aid in digestion, because she seemed to be in pain when she was about to have a BM. So he told me to pump and bottle feed every 1.5-2 hrs, and record volumes. By the 2nd day, I started to supplement with a liitle bit of formula, because it seemed I wasn't making enough in those short periods of time between feedings. I started taking fenugreek also the 2nd day. The 3rd day we went to see the doc and she was doing great! Hardly spitting up and had gained 9 ounces! But then when I went back to 2-3 hrs, she started spitting up and many times does not want the breast at all! I knew this was a risk, but I had bottle fed her a few other times with my milk, and she is also using a pacifier, so I didn't think she would have any nipple confusion. I got so upset today, because she just seems miserable when I try to breast feed now, she just cries and groans at every feeding. We both just end up giving up and I pump whatever is left and try to bottle feed her that. I was just so sad. I want to BF, but if she is that miserable, then is it worth it? I feel like I'm causing her too much trauma.
Hope all is well with everyone... and any advice, I would certainly appreciate it!

Coach- I hope by now you've delivered your LO!!! I can't imagine being overdue...man that sucks.

Ang- Aww, so sorry you're having probs...but 9oz is great in 3 days! We have a schedule-ish...each week is a surprise. LOL It's like, one day he's one way, the next, he does a 180! For example, since Saturday, he wants to stay up about 2 hours in the morning now.

I have hyperactive letdown, so Bronx is always gulping a lot and between the baby congestion, he fusses at the boob. What has helped is that I football hold him when I feed and have him propped up on my boppy at least at a 45 degree angle. Then after the feed, I hold him upright on my chest (which, BTW, my back is KILLING me lol) for another 10-15 minutes. It seems to have helped. Maybe she's taking in too much when you do the 2-3 hr feed cuz she's eating more? Try to burp her about 5 mins in to settle the milk... B also groans alot when he tries to have a BM, but apparently that's normal? As long as he's having his 4-5 poops a day.

Any advice on mucus? I feel like I'm fighting the losing battle. I saline 3x's a day, suction 2x's...but it's at night when it's the worse. B's been sleeping in his swing since Saturday because it helps. The crib being propped up at an angle didn't work out so great. I just feel bad because it's like he can't breathe properly :(

The only GOOD thing, is that me switching to bland food has caused B to not have horrid gas pains (yippie!) anymore.

Hope everyone's doing well! We're already a month in! woo hoo!
