Wow tater!!! congratulations!!! i love the name you picked for him! I'm glad everything went well! he's a pretty good size hope you have a speedy recovery from the C-sec, don't be afraid to get up once they allow you to- the discomfort/pain from getting up are the muscles being tense but it dosen't mean that something is damaging (the doc told me that and it really helped, bkz every time i got up i thought I'm gonna rip something) sooo excited for you!!! i m too curious who's going next

Hi Y'alls!

Guess what? I had my son too! LOL

Bronx Koapohaku was born on 10/08/09 at 5:07 PM via C-Section @37wks exactly!!!

We went to our usual NST on Thursday and they weren't happy with his response to the test, so we were sent to the hospital for more monitoring. Once admitted though, my doctor just decided that it would be best to deliver as he was showing early signs of stress and my blood pressure wasn't getting any better. It all happened so fast! My appointment was at 11AM and BAM, had a kid at 5!

I'm healing well, although a bit overwhelmed. I think we'll be discharged tomorrow.

Can't wait for everyone else to have their kiddos!

Hi guys! Just checking in!

Man, this first week has been semi-rough; During the day, he's awesome, but at night man oh man. I've stopped counting the hours of sleep I'm getting.

I'm so happy to report that BF is going well...if you guys are having probs, invest in a nipple shield. OMG, it's made a difference! After my initial "heck no, I'm not BFing"...it's been such an enjoyable process...and I'm lucky that I have such support available from my health group/hospital.

B's gained back some of his weight...in fact, he gained about 4oz between Monday and today! Most of his clothes don't fit him though...he's just a LITTLE big for premie clothes and too big for newborn clothes...can't believe I looked at all that and went "it's going to be too small".

How is everyone else doing? I hope all is well and for those of you who haven't delivered, I hope your deliveries all go smoothly! *hugs*

Here's a photo of my little man:

Congrats Irainei! He is too precious!

Here is our story... so I was feeling crappy on Thursday Oct 8th, just didn't sleep well, mad that I wasn't dilated, worried about getting everything done at work, etc. So I was up all night, and told myself I need to stay home and rest. SOOO glad I did! Friday was my regularly scheduled day off. I woke up at 5am just kinda antsy, at 7 am my husband woke up for work and got in the shower. At about 7:10 am I felt a pop, literally like a water balloon popping and a gush of water! I stood up and it kept coming! I was thinking "wait a minute this is what everyone said only happens in the movies?" so I ran to the bathroom, and just sat there in shock as water continued to come out! I yelled for my DH, and he came running in when I told him I think my water broke! I called the Dr. and he said get to the hospital, the cord may be falling down in front of her, that's why her head is not "corking" off the amniotic fluid when I stand up! So Now we are freaking out and get to the hospital. They confirm it was amniotic fluid, put me on monitoring and my Doc comes in and tells me I'm still not effaced or dilated, and that he recommends I get induced so that I progress. So we decide to go ahead and get the Pitocin. By 9:20 I am on the IV of pitocin. By 11:30, the contractions are getting pretty strong, I'm less than 1cm dilated, almost 100% effaced. At 2:00, I am told that I will be getting the epidural (if I want it) in about an hour! YES PLEASE! This coming from the person who didn't want an IV, induction, epi.. etc. etc.. now I am in so much pain and almost to a 4! I am blacking out at the peak of every contraction! At 3:00, no Epi yet, 4:00 the anesthesiologist FINALLY comes in to save me! After that I was feeling pretty good! But at 7pm , I'm still at a 4! So we start talking about what's next.. obviously C section came into discussion, but I was willing on holding out for a little longer, if we can. At 8pm, still a 4, they have me turn on my left side, and her HR drops to 70 BPM! they flip me back over quickly and call the Dr. her cord is obviously pinched, maybe in the birth canal which is preventing her from dropping into the birth canal, Grace is still at a -1, and she should be at a +1. So my Doc recommends a C section and we decide that's the best thing. We didn't want to bring any more trauma to her trying a vaginal birth. So Off we go to the OR! And 40 min later Grace came to this world! her cord was wrapped around her neck and her arm was in the birth canal next to her head! But she is healthy and we are happy!

WOW Ang!!! I am so glad everything worked out for you both! She is absolutely gorgeous and I am so happy you both are recovering well. I think I would have died waiting for an Epidural that long.

irainei he is such a handsome little guy! I love the name too, so cute! I know exactly what you mean about clothes, lol. We did not have a single newborn sized item when Emery arrived. We figured he would be a bit bigger so everything was 3 month sizes and no way would that fit him. My mother had a great time going to buy him all kinds of tiny little outfits.

We've just been bonding like crazy and snuggling as much as possible. Hubby took a few weeks off and my parents are here helping out so it's been a wonderful transition and we take Emery this week for his first Dr appt. Here is a pick of the little guy. We had the photographer come take his pics last Thursday and I'm dying to get them back in a few weeks.

I can't wait to hear your stories and see your pics J and Coach. Take it easy these last few days and keep us posted

That's crazy we all had C sections and within the same few days! I'm so glad everyone is healthy and doing good!! Take care ladies and little lovies

Aww Ang and Tater...they're beautiful! I totally agree, crazy that we all had our kids around the same time (esp. Ang...since we were towards the end of the month)! And all that hair! So adorable!

I hope the others are doing well...maybe they had their babies too?!

Right now, I am dealing with a stuffy child :(...well not exactly stuffy, but it's hindering his breathing. Last night was really hard, he was up from 11-3 and then again from 530-8. I bought a Nosefrida and Little Noses saline yesterday, so he's somewhat cleared but I feel like we have a long way to go...do you know how often we can suction his nose? I just feel so bad for him because I know he's having a hard time breathing (although, my MIL has the magic touch and he is currently peacefully asleep). Our first pedi appointment is on Thursday and I can't wait...Curious to see how much he's put on...

Congrats ladies!!! Can't believe everyone has had c-sections! I am scheduled to have my c-section on Thursday morning! I will finally get to meet my little prince Eli! I am super excited and not yet feeling the nerves...

Ang- Your story sounds soo similar to my 1st son's. I went all the way to an 8 before they decided to do a c-section. It turns out that he was just not going to drop because his head was turned sideways!

irainei - Is your son sleeping better at night, other than being stuffy? Maybe he has/had his days/nights confused. If so, maybe you can try and keep him up a little longer late afternoon or into the evening.

How's the feeding going? And the sleeping at night for baby/mom?

Lv~ I'm thinking of you and your LO today and wishing you a wonderful and smooth birth Keep us posted when you get a chance, I can't wait to see your little angel!

Coach~ I'm sending baby vibes your way girl!! Hopefully your LO will be here soon. I know the wait is the absolute worst. I hope your appt goes well and that they have some good news for you.
My recovery has been going well. We only stayed in the hospital for 2 days afterward but I was ready to go home by then. I feel fine, some slight burning in my "guts" (sorry, not sure how to describe it) but other than that everything has been great. A small part of my incision came open but it just had to drain a bit and is perfectly fine Doc said. That was a bit scary when I first noticed it but it doesn't bother me or hurt. I stopped taking the pain meds a few days after we got home. Ibuprofen was enough after the first five days.
Feeding was a disaster for us. We tried everything to breastfeed and even had a lactation consultant come to the house and we went to a different one after that but we just could not get it. I had a tumor taken out of my right breast a while back and since they had to remove the nipple my breast could not make milk properly and my left breast just could not seem to handle it. I won't go into the details but I was heartbroken we could not nurse. I have all of this brand new breast feeding stuff including my Medela pump and did not even use any of it. I'm thinking we'll donate it but I'm not really sure, I'd like to keep it just in case we have another so I can try again but who knows. So far sleep has worked out pretty good. He sleeps for about 3 hr stretches and at night seems to know it's diaper, bottle and back to sleep. We seem to be getting into a pattern so that's good.
We had our first Dr. appt today and he weighs 9.7lbs (he was 8 when we brought him home from the hospital) so he's gained a bit. Everything looks good but she did say he had a "click" in his right hip. I'm a little scared about that as he might have hip dysplasia but I'm not going to worry until after we have the ultra-sound.

Hope all of you ladies and babies are doing well

Just wanted to update- the ob appt didn't come up with a whole lot, only that my cervix is very soft and 75% effaced, but not yet dilated. Doc also mentioned that the baby is veeery low (which i absolutely feel) and my chances of giving birth soon sound good :)

One thing that really bothers me thou- the hospital has adopted a new policy where children under 18 aren't allowed to visit at all- and only 2 visitors per room, the waiting rooms are all locked and if somebody even sneezes they won't let them into the hospital due to the swine flu scare! Honestly I'm so mad!!! I was planning that dh would drive me and DS to the hospital, and while he dosen't think he wants to be in the delivery room, he could watch DS in the waiting room untill birth is over... now that's ruined. I don't want to give ds to relatives while I'm in the hospital, and my whole plans have just been shattered due to the nutty flu! I could cry!!! Now DS has to meet his little brother at home and can't even come see him/me at the hospital

Did your hospitals have a similar policy? Is that normal? I don't know what to think... It just upsets me!

Hi Ladies!

Lily Madeline was born October 13 at 11:24 am. She was somewhat ontime. :) Night of the 12th around (830pm) I felt contractions and I panicked because I sooo didn't feel prepared for what was to come. We drove to the hospital and the contractions were coming every 8 to 10 minutes and as each contraction came it got more painful. The OB decided we should be checked in. I received my epidural at around midnight and pictocin (sp) shortly after that. I was only 2cm dilated. at 7am i was fully dilated but she had yet to drop. at 7:30am the OB popped my water and found a little myconium(sp). He said that I can try for a vaginal birth until 9:30am if nothing happens I will have a C-Section. I tried my best to push, at one point they stopped the epidural. Good Lord!! that was painful.
at 10:50am there was no change. We OK'd the C-SEction and 10 minutes later I was rolled into surgery. At 11:24am Lily Madeline was screaming her lungs out. The neonatal team was on standby because of the myconium - all is well. She didn't ingest any poop. When they took her out, the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Although I was groggy from the anesthesia, I was crying hysterically when I was told of her umbilical cord.

C-Sections are no joke. I thought the catheter was the worst part. No one told me about the "burning" pain. Its been a week and i'm glad for pain meds. I was hesitant to take a narcotic because of what it may do to the breastmilk. I was assured it was safe. at anyrate, it's been a week. recovering. C-Section mommies, anyone feel their joints ache? i feel like i just did a major workout.

^^ wow wasabi!!! Congratulations!!! I love the name Lily Madeline! That sounds so scary with the umbilical cord around her little neck, I'm glad they got her out on time and everything went well!!!

I can't believe another c-section :/ Is there anybody right now who didn't have one?

Strange that the catheter hurt, when I had mine with DS it didn't hurt at all, they put it in after the anesthetics and i didn't feel a thing... strange that they don't do that standard.
