Unhappy Not losing weight after baby?
Ok..I know this probably sounds vain, but I am at the end of my rope. I gained about 35 pounds in my pregnancy. I had my DS 4 months ago, lost 20 in the first two weeks...and NOTHING since then. In fact, the scale has actually been creeping UP!?! I exercise religiously and was always really fit. I can't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy clothes that aren't stretchy and I just want to cry. I know I'm not eating too many calories and am no longer pumping breastmilk so my body shouldn't be hanging onto the last pounds, right?
Oh- I did start taking the mini-pill about two months ago but haven't had a period since the birth, even the fake on that you get from the Pill. Not sure if that's relevant.
Does anyone have any advice for me? Sorry to sound so vain when I have a beautiful little guy, but I have never had problems with my weight and it's really affecting my self-confidence :-(...

Well, the pill always makes me gain. In weird places! Have you tried this kind before? What side effects did it give you last time?

I don't know if the mini pill has anything to do with it...but I just wanted to say that you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, you lost 20 lbs already - that is great! It took the 9 months to gain the weight, so give it at least the 9 months to lose it! I know, that is not what you want to hear and it wasn't what I wanted to hear either, but it is true

Just wanted to let you know your not alone. I am in the EXACT same situation. It could have been me writing that. Baby is even the same age almost. I am on the mini-pill and still have 15 to lose. I also haven't had my period yet.
I have joined a booty camp fitness thing but it doesn't start until sept :( They say you can loose over 10lbs so I am hoping that does the trick.
I have to get this weight off.

Girls! I gained 70...yes, you read that right, 70 pounds with my daughter! I still have about 30 to go to reach my prepregnancy weight and she's 5 months old. UGH. And on top of that, I'm leaving for my honeymoon in 4 weeks (from yesterday but whos counting?? ) to go to Maui where all the girls will probably be all hot and skinny and my DH will be stuck with his fat wife. I'm trying soooo hard to lose it but its stuck! AND I wont be able to find shorts due to it being september at that point so if I do buy them now and they are too small or big at that point, I'll have wasted money. Yup, screwed with a capital 's'.

girls, we are in the same boat...i have about 20 or so that i would love to loose. i can fit into some of my pre pregnancy clothes [the bigger ones ]. i just hate my tummy now. i would love to have my body back, the one from right before mack [and i used to hate it..hehehe]. you are working out and trying stylefly, so it will take a lil while for it to come off, me, on the other hand, im not really doing anything about it. i know i know...it's the laziness...lol. i try to eat healthy, no fast food, hardly any soda. i was really hoping that bf'ing was gonna help me out, well that didn't pan out either. so i can either keep on b'ing and moaning or get off my arse and do something about it....b'ing and moaning is so much easier though :)

I'm in the boat too! Still BF-ing so trying not to get discouraged yet. Why on earth did I even hate my body pre-preggers?! I would die for it now! LOL! I gained, I think, close to 40lbs. And I have lost about 20-22. So I have close to 20 lbs to loose also. I'm giving myself 9 months, but geez this sucks.

Some good points were made here, it took 9 months to put it on so it could take that much time to get it off. Try not to stress over it because the stress can actaully keep you from loosing that weight. Try to focus on getting the right amount exercise and not killing yourself, eating right and taking care of that little bundle of joy. I am sure the rest of the weight will come off soon.

Thanks everyone. It's nice to know I'm not alone! I think what's weirding me out is that even when I started exercising again 6 weeks after my c-section, NOTHING came off. I know for a fact that I'm taking in less calories than I'm putting out and yet the scale doesn't budge an iota...I'm not undereating at all but I certainly should be losing even a little bit at a time, no? And this little weight gaining thing has got me worried too
I think I'd feel better if I was seeing even a tiny bit of loss but it's been 3 and a half months with absolutely no change...just seems odd to me...venting feels sooooo good right now though

I should tell you that I was in the same place you are after I had DS. I had gained 65 lbs (ugh!) and by the 6 month mark I had lost about 50 of it...and then, FINALLY, by the 9 month mark, I had lost all of it! It took a long time, but it did happen and it will for you!

Gained about 35 with my first, lost only 20 of that then gained about 27 with the second that was born last month. All in all I'm about 20 pounds from where I was pre-kids and this time around I'm bfing and the weight is coming off pretty quickly so will stick this one out. I only pumped with dd1 and think that is why the weight didn't come off but hoping that bfing exclusively this time will be an effective catalyst for weight loss.
