My daughter is 9 1/2 months old. She's been cruising for quite some time now and can take up to 4 steps on her own. I'm pretty sure she'll be walking soon so I'm having problems with finding shoes for when we are out. Sophia is always barefooted at home. The problem is her feet are sooooo tiny. She still can fit into Gap 0-3 months shoes. She got a pair of pedipeds (0-6 months) for christmas last year and they are still too big. I just have a question about pedipeds and robeez. Are the smaller shoes (say around under 12months of age) consider crib shoes and are all the soles the same as the larger size? For example the pedipeds soles of 0-6 months (baby) same as the soles of 12-18 months (walker)? I don't have a store nearby where I can compare and I def wouldn't want to put her in crib shoes for walking.
Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Both pedipeds and robeez have soft leather bottoms. Pedipeds are a little more structured and robeez have a sueded bottom (better for gripping, imho). From what I've seen, there is no difference between the smaller and larger sizes and I've seen children walk indoors and outdoors in both brands of shoes.

my dd has very small narrow feet so once she grew out of her robeez 0-6 mos i had a terrible time finding shoes to fit her when she started walking. the sa where i get her stuff suggested tip toey joeys as they are more narrow than pediped and robeez. my dd seems to fit well into those shoes and is able to walk quite fine in them...

We've used Pedipeds and Robeez both. I think the soles increase in measurement as the sizes increase (i.e., Pedipeds 0-6m are smaller than 12-18m, ditto for Robeez.) I know that my son has definitely grown out of one size into another as time goes on, which I don't see how he'd do if the soles were the same size. I think Robeez run a little smaller overall than Pedipeds.
You don't really need a lot of support when the baby is first walking -- you want the shoe to be as flexible as possible, so you're really looking at protecting her feet. We still used Robeez, even with the thin soles, until he was really running around outdoors. Maybe also look at the Smaller by See Kai Run shoes. They have super-cute shoes, especially for girls, and I feel like their sizing is more specific rather than age-based. |

Thanks everyone I'll def check out the other brands. What I meant about the soles were if they increase in thickness as the sizes run larger
