I know! I hate to think that my baby is growing up so fast. He's almost grown out of 6-9 months clothes!! I'm just glad that he's thriving though, and that I can provide that nourishment for him

Awww....I know exactly what you mean, though! Hehe....well, my son started teething a little later, at around 8 months...now at 19 months he's almost got a full set of baby teeth, sooo cute! The final teeth have just started emerging and here's me thinking how to brush those ones further at the back!

^^ LOL. Yeah, I'm thinking about the whole brushing thing as well. Then comes the dentist, and the dentist phobia.
But I'm still looking forward to all of it, good and bad.

Awww so cute and so young! My son started teething around 4 months but his teeth didn't actually break through until about 7 months or so.

My 4 mo old daughter is starting to drool a ton~I guess I better go out and get some baby orajel just in case!

Thanks ladies
calicaliente- I use baby tylenol. It seems to work out fine for my DS
I think he's working on another one too! I can see the second one right next to the first one, just under the skin

This question is going to make me seems like a prime candidate for Clueless Mother of the Year, but how do you ladies decide when your babies need baby Tylenol or Orajel during teething? I'm asking because all that's occurred to me to give my twins have been those teethers that you keep chilled... They seem happy just maniacally chomping on the teethers. But they are drooling a lot. So does drooling & the fact that they ARE teething automatically mean that they are in pain and I should give them? In general, I've really made it a point not to medicate at all; I only gave my daughter a little baby tylenol after the last set of vaccines and I only did that because I could tell that every time she moved her leg, the soreness at the vaccine site was upsetting her... At the same time, I'd rather give a little Tylenol than have them be in pain when teething... Oh, and no, they have not been crying any more frequently nor do they seem to be experiencing any discomfort but the do bite and chomp like fiends on EVERYTHING they can get their gums on (hand, foot, teether, each other's hand, each other's foot and so on ).
TIA ladies!

Well, I can tell that my DS was in pain because he would gnaw on my fingers, and he would make loud noises while he was chomping on things, and when I'd try to set him down, or lay him down, he'd want to be picked up (still does) so once in a while when it seemed really bad, I'd give him the recommended dose.

^^^Thanks. Yeah, my 2 definitely gnaw... sometimes it cracks me up because they look possessed when they get a hold of the teethers; like like little savage puppies. They aren't crying or making any ''pain'' or ''hurt'' sounds so that's why I didn't think they could be feeling any discomfort that's serious enough to medicate... But now, I'm thinking I'll just really watch tomorrow for any signs that their gums are hurting I really don't want them to be uncomfortable if I can help it

ETA On the other hand, I'm thinking that maybe they are not feeling discomfort yet because the little tooth they are each sprouting has not yet broken through the gum... it's almost there which may be when I need to bring out the tylenol?
