Default kinda freaking out...direct blow to my belly!!! :-(

My son didn't mean it at all and lost his footing when he went to give me a hug while I was laying down and his elbow just came down right on my lower belly with all his weight behind it!!! It hurt bad and took my breath away when it happened but now is just a dull pain and I am not having any bleeding or anything but Im freaking out!!! What if something bad happened in there??!! He feels soo bad and cried so hard so I insisted I was ok (he has since felt a little better about it) but 'what if'? Has anything like this happened to anyone here? (and been ok afterwards?) Help!!

Awww, sweetie. Take a deep breath and relax....Have you called your doctor? If you haven't yet, go ahead and do it now. They can give you the reassurance you need. Your baby is really well protected inside, so I'm sure everything is just fine. But still...talking to the doctor will make you feel better.

That baby is SOOO protected in there. I remember reading that when I was pregnant that the baby is cushioned so well in utero. Call your doctor if you're nervous just to be reassured.

When I was pregnant I fell once, and I got a sharp pain, but I was fine. I still felt the baby kicking afterward, and that was reassuring, but I still called the hospital and spoke with a nurse. She told me that unless I was bleeding BRIGHT red blood, that I was OK The baby is so well cushioned that I doubt that little one even got jostled around in there. Try not to stress out too much, it's not good for baby

awww...thank u so much ladies. I have calmed down a bit a felt some movement so that in itself is VERY reassuring! My poor son felt so bad thinking he hurt the baby but I told him not to worry. But really, thank u so much for helping to put my mind at ease! :-) I think things will be ok thank goodness...I was really scared.

I agree, baby is likely fine. There's SOO much between the outside and that baby - a TON of cushioning!

im glad you are relieved. and just to reiterate, the baby is well protected and im sure all is ok...if you feel funny the next few days just give your doc a call.

and your poor lil boy, im sure he was very upset. give him extra hugs and if the baby is moving enough for him to feel let him feel that baby is ok and he can tell baby sorry and give your tummy kisses :]]

Ilovepinkhearts---omg, his face was heartbreaking when he thought he really hurt me. His face was red and his eyes welled up with tears, it broke my heart! I just tucked him in and he said "I really hope I didn't hurt the baby mommy" and I said to him no that the baby was fine and lucky to have a big brother that cares so much already. He seemed a little more relieved after that, thank goodness.

I have been getting more movement tonight since that 'incident' than I ever have before so I am assuming that it is a good thing? It def makes me feel better knowing he/she is moving and active after all that.

I'm sure the baby is fine. Do you happen to know your blood type? I ask because my concern is if you are rh negative a rhogam shot may be in order.

I had a similar thing happen, a girl with training wheels on drove straight to my belly with her bike. Really hard. Nothing happened and my doc said the baby is so protected in the water that only car crashes and such hurt them. Since you are feeling movements, everything is fine.

How old is your elder boy? He sounds like such a sweet kid

Glad you're alright.

Try not to worry! I fell flat on my front at 7 months tho' I had my arm across my belly so that took most of the impact (I still have the scar!) My stomach was so big I just couldn't judge my feet right and tripped over a kerb. Everything was fine - I could feel the baby kicking right afterwards. She's now 6 months and healthy as! If you feel movement i'm sure all is well.
