Ive never heard of that. Sounds kind of sci-fi. I do think there is some value to comforting and familiar sounds though, and some say there are positive benefits to certain sounds and music. Maybe there is something to it.

You guys can check out their site if you're interested : http://babyplus.com/index.php
I've read a lot of reviews, most of them are good but there are still a few that said it won't work on their baby.

I'm starting to try listen to classical half an hour a day too... not sure if it helps soothing the baby but it does helps me relax :)

yep, DH and I started working on the nursery last month..we took one of the spare bedrooms that was just being used as a dumping ground for random crap (boxes, old photos, etc) and spent several weekends and evenings (and several trips to the Container Store, lol) cleaning it all out. we did it very early on because our first piece of nursery furniture was delivered a few weeks ago. below is a pic of it..the Madison Changing Table System from Pottery Barn Kids.

so far that's all that's in the nursery right now, we are waiting to purchase more decorations, drapes, crib bedding etc until we find out the gender. Eventually, I want it to look something like this (from the Pottery Barn Kids website):

i absolutely loove the storage boxes/baskets (and other decorations) at PBK. i guess i like all the colors and how they seem to coordinate with each other.

oh and last week we ordered a crib from a local baby store and a glider/ottoman from Babies R Us. The crib should arrive in a week or two, whereas the glider will probably take a few months, since we had to custom order it.

sweetneet - wow you guys did a great job hehe! I love the color!

DH and I are not planning to have one anytime soon. We decided the baby will stay with us till 1 and we will then turn the other room which is a studio room for the DH now into baby's room :)

wow, that babyplus thing looks really cool, i will have to look into that!

and yeah, about classical music, i normally didn't use to listen to it, but my DH plays the violin and he's just starting to play certain songs for our baby every day. i dont' know exactly when the baby can start to hear, but i figure it's never too early to start! i've read that if you play the same song to the baby every day while in the womb, they will be comforted by hearing that same song after they are born.

thanks BearyT! i like the color too...i'm usually not into green but when i saw the color swatch in the store i actually liked it. i figure if i have a girl i'll do pink/green theme and if it's a boy i'll do blue/green theme.

and for us we figure our baby will probably sleep in our bedroom at first too.. i'm thinking of getting one of those Arm's Reach co-sleepers. for the first few months we will probably use the crib/nursery only for naps during the day. my mom (and MIL) kept telling me how i didn't really need a crib, changing table, and all this stuff right away, which i totally agree, but i just couldn't help myself...i just had to go crazy with the baby stuff! i'm sure i will end up getting ten times more clothes than the baby will ever get to wear, but it's just soo hard to resist buying every darn cute thing i see!

I want to join too.

I am due January 28, 2010 with our baby #2. I am 29 and DH is 31. Depending if the baby decides to come early or not, I might still be 29 when s/he is born.

I've gained about 3.5 lbs total at last week appt. My NT scan and 1st tri screening came back negative, and I will get blood drawn for the APF next Friday. My Ob likes to have his patients come in every 3 weeks, so that's what I've been doing. The last three appts, Ob did u/s, but he won't do anymore until closer to the due date. From now on, it's the doppler to listen to the HB. My big u/s will be done at a radiology clinic, and I can't wait. It'll probably be in 5 weeks or so.

I am already wearing maternity jeans starting yesterday. My regular jeans were getting uncomfortable, and I don't like wearing them unbuttoned or with the rubber band trick. I am still in the "in-between" phase where people can't tell that I am pregnant. I had told me boss that I am pregnant, so some people in the office knows but not everyone. The family all know. We've told some friends, but not everyone. I think I am just going to post a sonogram on facebook.

Babyplus
I used it with DD. She is relatively calm and easy. She started sleeping through the night really early on (she was sleeping 6 hrs from 9pm - 3am by 3 weeks, which by definition is sleeping through the night). But I don't know if that's just her nature or if it's the result of the Babyplus. With that said, I will use it again with this baby since I already have the system, and it doesn't hurt the baby.

wow, i am so jealous..i'm due around the same time as you and i haven't been able to fit into most of my regular jeans for the past 8 weeks! i was already in maternity pants as early as week 10 (6 weeks ago!). even my MIL was like "wow, are you sure you aren't having twins??" LOL. though i think still not everyone notices that i'm prego, i guess it depends on what i wear.

and about putting a sonogram on facebook, that's how i announced it. all of my family and some of my friends already knew, but a lot of friends/acquaintances didn't know. i think around 13 weeks i just posted a video of our 12-week ultrasound and let people comment!

That's great your co-worker is letting you borrow it.
How did you like the heat the last few weeks? It was so uncomfortable for me.

sweetneet
I bet you are not as big as you think you are. I felt like I was huge and showing at 10 weeks, but then I had DH take a belly pic and it doesn't look as big as I thought.

i used to live in LA until last year. i thought it was hot in the summer... until i moved to Texas! here it has been pretty much in the triple digits 90% of the time for the past couple months. i'm glad though that least most of this hot weather was in my first trimester & early part of second trimester..i can't imagine being in 7 or 8 months prego and having to walk around in the Texas heat!! by the time i get really big i figure it will be down to the 40s, which should be perfect.
