My husband and I never really wanted children, however, when I got to 37 I got the maternal instinct. Long story short, we tried ONE TIME and I got pregnant and had my son at 38. We live in an age were anything is possible and 36 is not too late to start thinking about kids.

Yeah 36 is not old at all, I know women who've borne healthy intelligent children even at 45! You're never infertile until you get a second medical opinion about your infertility. Till then, never say you're infertile, there are tons of younger women who are and desire so much to be in your shoes. As long as you're not menopausal, you should try to conceive. If infertile there are always other options to help you conceive. Or you can choose to adopt, there are many babies out there in need of parents!

I just had a baby at 40. Heathly and happy. My friends who don't have children at 40 are really slowing down. My friend just had a baby girl at 43. She is always on the go. I think having children at an older age keeps you young..

Do it. I was 36 when I had my son. No regrets. I am so glad I waited until I was older.

I had my son at 35. You are not too old! People are getting married later and living longer, so when your husband says you're too old--baah too old in what way? The societal norm of having babies at 25 doesn't work for everyone for various personal reasons.

Have a heart to heart with him and explain your feelings about now wanting children. I believe that sometimes things happen for a reason and perhaps you weren't ready 6 years ago.

i don't think 35 is too old at all. i have a friend who had her first kid when she was 37, and the second when she was 39. they are both healthy kids.

however, i do understand how it feels to be constantly pressured by everyone to have kids. i'm 30 and i would say about 85% of all my friends my age (from high school, grad school, work, etc) either have kids or are expecting...everyone keeps asking "how about you guys??" . i do want to have kids some day, but i just want to be ready first. have kids in your 20s is not for everyone.
