Thanks for the post, omgsweet! Very interesting, I always like seeing Dr. Sears' opinion and hadn't seen this article yet :)

My OB said they will recommend it to all pregnant women. Since I am pregnant, I assume I will get the vaccine as the virus seems to really affect pregnant women. I would love to hear though if there are any risks or dangers. I am not sure about my 18 month old yet though.

i will see my OB in a few weeks and ask his opinion on H1N1. i don't even take claritin while pregnant and my allergies are pretty bad, so i can't imagine getting a vaccine while pregnant even though i pose a greater risk?!?! now i'm a bit worried b/c i don't want to harm my baby nor put anyone at risk of getting sick.

Nope. Not me (expecting) or my toddler son. Not enough studies have been conducted to show long term side effects on unborn children etc.... No thanks, no way, no how.

No, and no! I am not into all of these crazy vaccines. I don't get flu shots, and DD won't either. I am not taking the chance. Next you'll hear that it causes brain tumors or something!

I'd like to point out that flu vaccines have been around for 50+ yrs . . . we'd know if they caused brain tumors
Big pharma companies are not as evil as a lot of people want to believe.

I wonder about the vaccines though. Obviously it is very important for the population to be vaxed. So if there was a major side effect or anything dangerous about it they would want to keep that information confidential because if word got out then people would stop vaxing and we would have break outs of disease everywhere.

It is in the best interest of the whole population to get vaxed and I can see them willing to sacrifice a few for the good of the whole.

Is the H1N1 a seperate shot from a regular flu shot or is it combined?

I work in the medical sales field and I am pretty sure it is the same with pharma companies....
It is illegal to withhold any information about side effects and things like that.

As swanky has said these vaccines have been around for a LONG time. I did have the flu shot while pregnant and have had it for over 15 years at least. My concern was with the H1N1 and how fast it is coming together. After what dr sears said about the last few that were rushed and the GB side effect I am even more leary of this.

My DH is of the same opinion, but I have my doubts.

In the UK the govt. is apparently considering vaccinating all school children, whether this actually comes to pass I have no idea, but I feel a bit uncomfortable about it and hope it never comes down to the wire...

the FDA isn't in bed w/ all the pharma companies and EVERYTHING has to make it through the FDA. LOTS never make it. Dh has been in the business for over 20 yrs, it's really not as evil as people want to think.
