Default Grrr...formula frustration (vent about a vendor)
So, I've been having problems getting my milk supply up enough for my little guy. He's really little (4lbs, 9 oz coming home from the hospital), so we're supplementing with formula in the meantime, since we can't have him losing weight. For convenience sake, given that he doesn't eat much at a time (about 2 oz.), we've been trying to get more of the little 2-3 oz. bottles they gave us at the hospital. Expensive, I know, but we're happy to pay the premium for having it in such a handy form.

My husband ordered some online from babiestravellite.com, for over $100. They supposedly ship to vacation destinations worldwide or to your door so that you don't have to schlep baby stuff along on vacation. Well, it's a good thing we're not on vacation, since we'd be long back by now. He ordered on the 14th. We're still waiting for the darn formula. This is to get it from LA to the Bay Area. I called them, and they apparently don't work weekends and were arbitrarily closed the M/T after our order, so they didn't touch it till Wednesday. Then it supposedly got damaged in shipping, so they just shipped it again yesterday, almost two weeks after our order! And of course now they won't let me cancel because it's in transit. Thank goodness it's coming to our house rather than a hotel, otherwise we'd never even see the stuff...grrr...

Thank you so much!! You are such a doll. I would love your Similac Advance, but only if you are really sure you can't use it yourself, since I know how hard it is to get the little bottles. I'm happy to send you money via Paypal to reimburse you.

We've been switching kinds to see what seems to work best, since the hospital and my lactation consultant gave us a bunch of different kinds to try out. He seems to not like the organic Similac much, and Enfamil makes him spit up more, so Good Start or Similac Advance seem to be the two preferred options.

Thank you again! I just wanted to vent about my frustration, was certainly not expecting such a kind and generous offer!!

We supplemented with both of our children formula and breast milk. You probably already know this but you should pump the feedings he would normally take because with breast milk it is supply and demand so as hard as it is, try to pump when you give him some formula. I love those little ready made bottles too they are amazing and always at the right temp ! One of the reasons the supply may be low is because his weight is low right now he is not taking as much so it is affecting supply and demand so even when you breast feed you should either pump some first so he gets the hind milk or pump after the feeding too and start on the breast that you finished with first.

yes! We supplemented with formula with both our kids and we used to go to Babies r us to get the ready made bottles. The 2oz ones were perfect for when they weren't drinking too much at one time. Similac will also deliver to your house. I'm sorry for your frustration!!! Thank God you weren't on vacation!
