Question For those of you who took Fenugreek...
So I'm back at work FT. DS take 5 ounce bottles now. So in order to get enough for his bottles from 8-5 I'm having to pump 4x a work and it's so time consuming i feel like I'm not getting anything else done. Prior to taking fenugreek I was getting about 3 ounces out of breastmilk when I pumped. Now that I have been on it for a week I am only getting maybe 3.5 ounces out...so not that big of a difference. When I'm home I BF though. How much did you get when you were on Fenugreek for a pumping session? And yes I'm takin git until I smell like pancakes. LOL. TIA!!

I would get about 6-8 oz during a pumping session, but I didn't pump consistantly. I mostly pumped when I knew someone else, like my DH or my Mom, would be bottle feeding our DS...and yes, I smelled like maple syrup, too

Fenugreek really didn't help me all that much but I think that was my fault. I gave into the family pressure that I was starving my kid, so we ended up using a bottle first then breast feeding after. I should have done it in reverse.

I went from about 3.5 oz per session to 4.25 oz but it took about a week and a half for me to see a difference and I REEK of maple syrup!

Have you tried power pumping right before work? I do mine when I wake up when my breasts are most full to get 9 oz out. It's time consuming for sure (20 min pump, 10 min break, 10 min pump, 10 min break, and 10 min pump again) but really drains the milk so that maybe you'll only need to pump twice at work.

It only helped me a bit (maybe an extra ounce at a pumping session), but I did smell like maple syrup for a month@

The most I ever got was 4 ounces a time... I tried Fenugreek, Power Pumping and Oatmeal. To be honest, old fashioned oatmeal was the most successful for me!

I used herbal lactation caps from the health food store and had great results.

I've never heard of this. I'll have to look into it. Where did you get it?

Another thing...avoid parsley and sage as they tend to reduce your supply (helpful when weaning though).

Good luck!

moringa oleifera is a vegetable we usually add to our soup or stew here in manila. aside from increasing milk supply for breast feeding moms, it also has many health benefits. u can try to ask your doctor about it. it sure helped me with my first pregnancy. the capsule is just available in our local drugstores. i dont know brand names of moringa u might have there so its best to ask the doctor. i took Natalac, but i dont know if u have that brand there.

LV Luvr, how are you doing w/ your Fenugreek/BF-ing? I just started taking Fenugreek (tried Oatmeal, extra water, more sleep, more pumping etc and nothing worked. I started taking it on Monday and today is Wednesday and I don't see a difference. I have been taking 3 capsules, three times a day but I still don't smell like maple syrup.
