I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my DD will be 3 in a couple of days. Who thinks I will need a double stroller when the baby arrives?

Hmm I don't think you will need one. Maybe when travelling, but otherwise no. Beside your DD will be so close to being a 4 y.o when the baby is born.

Depends on how much your LO rides now. My nephew at 5 was still an occasional rider.

But you can buy a glider board that attaches to the bottom of a stroller so your LO has a place to stand :)

if your toddler likes to ride along then you may want to consider the sit and stand by baby trend.

Sit and stands are great for an older child. I would be prepared with a double stroller of some sort if I were you. You never can be sure how your older one will react to not being able to ride in the stroller when the "new baby" can.

I have the same question as well. DS will be 2 yrs 8 months, close to 3 when newborn is here. He still takes nap in the afternoon, following daycare schedule, not sure at what age does he not require a nap? We're trying not to use the stroller but he tends to be EVERYWHERE whenever he's not. I really don't know when he's ready to be walking with us side by side.

For a child who would be closer to three than four, I would certainly want a double stroller. But for a child who was almost 4, that's a harder question. A lot changed with my kids when they were between 4 and 5, including taking fewer (if any) naps and wanting to be more independent. And I do wish I'd had a stroller with a ride-along step for an older child, because there were so many times in places like stores or malls where the smaller stroller would have been far more convenient, but I still wanted the freedom to move quickly without waiting for a younger child to keep up.

love shopping!!!
I used the double for a long time. Even when my kids were 5, if I wanted to take a neighborhood walk, they were slow paced, couldn't walk as long as I wanted to, so I used to call it 'nature walks' and they'd ride in the double stroller and I'd do brisk walks.

I had the Baby Jogger City Series double in lilac and loved it!

Depends on how much you utilize a stroller. If you use it frequently, I would recommend a double stroller. We got a sit and stand and it worked well.

mine was two when his sister came along and I didnt get a double-stroller - actually I got a board for my stroller for him to stand on and used that for the longest time. http://www.lascal.se/products/buggyboard-maxi

this is the one I got - I also had the baby carrier with me so that I could carry the baby when I didn't want to use a stroller.

my SIL got a double stroller http://www.toysrus.de/product/index....471&camp=c-goo

it is pretty great, and very solid but she used it in Germany for heavy outdoor use.

I would get rather buggypod as weight limit is 20kg and you can always remove it.
It's more comfortable than buggy board.

As far as I know in USA you can only buy it here:
http://www.buggypod.com/retailers.php#USA

There is also Litaf products like Seat 2Go or Pick-up

Last one is buggy board but I'm sure there is more inventions we don't know about so keep browsing and you might find something different perfect for you.

I have Baby jogger city select for my 2.5 year old and 6 months old but obviously the gap is much smaller and I wouldn't buy new double for four year old and newborn.

I'm going to buy buggypod to use for travelling will see if it's any good.

Good luck
