Default Did you register for your baby? if so where?

We are considering registering for our baby after the first 12 weeks have passed.
Did anybody do this? I dont know wether its kind of cheeky but we did NOT register for wedding gifts at all, we didnt really have a wedding either so got no presents (which was fine)..

I wondered if it is normal for people to register and send it on the shower invitation or not?

please dont flame me.. just wondered what the "norm" is..

I think its pretty normal to register for baby things. I have gotten several invitations with "registered at ______" written in them. I

I think I'm going to register once we know the sex...maybe before that if I cant wait!

I think its normal to register. I like it when people are registered because buying them a gift is easy!

I registered at Pottery Barn Kids.

I registered at Target. Babies R Us also has a lot of stuff and I think I would have registered there, except we didn't live near a store at the time.

I think registry information on shower invitations (both baby and wedding) is both appropriate and very helpful!

We did at Babies r Us and a local store called Bergstroms. FYI-Restoration Hardware now has baby stuff! So pretty! I wish it was around a year ago.

We registered after we found out the sex of our baby. We registred at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. I would highly recommend registering because surely you'll have a baby shower and will be helpful for people purchasing gifts for you!

I registered as well. I'm totally anti-shower for myself, don't care if other people have them, but I think registries make things easier for people. I'm pretty old-school and would probably not put it on the shower invite, but would just spread the word if asked.

I had two big showers (one in my home state and a second one in the state I moved to) and an informal gathering of friends. They all asked me to register.

Because of where my family was located, and the availability of stores, I chose to register at Target and Walmart. My hometown only really had Walmart as an option to register. It worked out really well because I moved in the middle of the pregnancy, and people sent stuff to my new home by using the online list. :)

PS- If there is a Babies R Us near you, register there! I love that store.

THanks for your opinions, i'm definetly going to register now!

We registered at Target and Babies R Us. The thing I liked best was that I could do it online & faraway relatives could order online if they didn't have a store near them. I think both stores give out little cards to put in your invitations if you register in person, sying "we are registered here." I didn't put anything in the invitation, I just told me mother (let's just say she's chatty) and everyone found out that way.

Have fun registering!
