phew!

i guess all of his family's twins are on their moms side...

... although, being able to have 2 kids with only being pregnant one has some appeal I must admit

Aw, what an awesome thread! OK, I don't have kids but a GF of mine has a younger bro and sis who are twins, AND she has (fraternal) twin boys, age 7! As she so aptly puts it, going to work can be relaxing!!

I have another GF who is pregnant with twins...due in January!!!

Uh oh! My mom is a twin (fraternal, she has a twin brother), and her sister had twin boys (also fraternal).

No kids yet, but I'd be terrified to have two! Especially if they were your first children. But I'm sure it's also very exciting and twice the fun.

Ah! If fraternals run in the family you're even more inclined to have them!

Twins as your first could be best, you have no point of reference!

I don't have twins but my best friend has 11 year old fraternal twin boys.

She has three younger children and I'm sitting here waiting for their family. They have been vacationing in Colorado and were their last stop!

Hmm, I don't know if I 'love' being a twin. I do like it much more than I used to when I was younger. Have you always loved being a twin? I remember that one of my prayers at night would be a plea to God for my own birthday.

It was less about the actual day but the fact that I didn't feel special. I think it affects different people differently. I think that maybe I was a little more self- centered than the average child, and it didn't help I had to share my parents' attention on that special day. I think a good idea is to build a different tradition with each child; I know other mothers do that and I wish my mom did it!

^^Sending you some multiples dust...

I can see where you are coming from but yes I have always loved being a twin. All my life I have shared my birthday with my twin and I couldn't imagine not celebrating my birthday without her. I never thought of it like that. Our family made it a point to make sure that people understood that we were twins but two separate people. We always got our own gifts etc.

I don't have kids yet, but twins run in my family including my mother and aunt. When I see them together I can have some understanding on how unique and deep the twin bond can be.

Hi All --
My boys are now 2 and half and they are fraternal twins. They were conceived (TMI?!) 4 days before mine and DH 8th wedding anniversary. Fast forward, 39 weeks and 2 days, they were born on my older sister's birthday. My sister loves the fact that the twins are born on her birthday. Through out my whole pregnancy she keep saying they were going to be born on her birthday. DH and I didn't think much of it being that we thought our little ones would make their appearance around 36/37 weeks. Anyhow, I have one more fun fact, I share the same birthday with my eldest sister. I was born 8 years later on her birthday. So my sister Cyndi and I share a birthday and my sister Shirley shares the same birthday as the twins.
Swanky do you belong to a MOTC in you area? I love my local club, it is always so much fun to hang out with other MOM (mother of multiples) and bragging about out kids and swapping preggo stories.
