Default Cleaning baby toys

Alright, for those of you who have had to unpack baby toys for your second child, how did you go about cleaning them off? I am talking primarily about soft cloth baby toys, which is what we primarily have from PBK, Infantino and Lamaze. They don't look dirty, but I just feel like they should be cleaned in some way after sitting in a rubbermaid box for two years. They mostly all say to surface clean on the tags, but with what that is non-toxic and safe? Any tips?

I would put them in the dryer with a wet washcloth or 2 and run them on fluff or low, just to get any dust off.

Hard plastic toys are easy throw them in a plastic bucket or bath tub with a weak bleach solution (about 1 cup for bath tub) and let them soak 30 minutes or so and rinse well.

Honestly I wash cloth baby toys in the washing machine and hard baby toys (especially bath toys)in the dishwasher. If I'm afraid of something melting or if it's too big I will use Clorox hard surface spray

i would also throw them in the dryer. the heat will help kill off any germs/dust that might be on them...and i found that throwing plastic toys in the washing machine in hot water with some bleach works perfectly.

Thanks ladies - I will get to cleaning tomorrow! That is, if I can pry the "newfound" toys from my two year olds hands. He didn't give a crap about them when they were his, but now that I have dragged them all back out for his sister, he's in heaven and acts like he has no toys of his own. This new baby thing is going to go over SO well, I can tell!

ha ha I know what you mean ! I clean things like megabloks and toys that are all plastic by throwing them in the washing machine with some bleach, they come out really clean. I put the cloth ones in the washer too if they are not electronic inside.

I'd wipe them with warm soapy (detergent) water, and lay them out under the sun to dry, or throw them in the dryer.
