You are so SWEET! Funny you said that because all I wanted to do the whole time was just watch his expressions and joy and surprise at what he was seeing. Brought me to tears to watch him. And made me feel a bit guilty for not taking him earlier. He did so well...stayed in his seat. It helped that it was very loud and noisy so it didn't matter how loud he got! LOL!

Happy that you had a great time. It's always a joy to see your children have fun. With our special children it's even more so. My son used to love Chucky Cheese. He got there and never wanted to leave. You ladies are so forunate because non these options for testing and early intervention were around. Sometimes I feel as though he was so cheated. He was at the beginning of the autism epedimic. Be happy that there is so progress in treating children.

We all owe you and your son thanks for sticking it out so it could be easier for us.

I was at Chucky Cheese tonight at a party.

Mammabyrdie is right, we owe you and your son - we are fortunate and grateful. And I have to say, I bet your precious boy doesn't feel cheated, not with a wonderful mother like you to love him.

We went to Disneyland yesterday. It was perfect! The weather was great and it wasn't too crowded. The park gives guest assistance passes to those with special concerns or needs which allows you to go to the front of the line. My boys were so happy! My 6 year old calsl it a Down Syndrome pass. After we get off the rides he says, "Yay Down Syndrome!" My children celebrate their brother in their own way.

mammabyrdie-Sounds like you guys always have great fun. That's shows that you are a very good mother. Do you or any other the mothers with special children work out side the home?

I don't. It would be very difficult and not worth the wages after daycare for 5 kids is paid out. I do volunteer a lot at my boys' school. I'll be ending my second term as PTA President (YAY) and going on to a PTA council position next school year. I figure I have to do my part to help out the kids whose moms have to work. We are suppose to be a community after all.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in and say that since we moved to the new house I was so worried DD would not adjust well and freak out, but to my amazement she has been so very good. She has been sleeping every night very well and is happy here. I think I'm the one having a harder time adjusting lol. I don't want to jinx it but I really can't believe how well she's been sleeping. At around 4am I sneak in her bed and she is still sleeping :)

This is a child who would wake up at least 3 to 4 nights at 2am and not go back to sleep, so I would have to stay up with her and since moving here we are all getting a good nights rest.

It's Spring break this week and we are looking forward to some fun days at the park and the zoo hopefully. DD has been signing it's so funny and she is actually drinking out of a zippy cup at school ( I can't believe it) but not at home.... not sure why but atleast she is making progress. She has major problems with food as she only eats crunch crackers and stuff no meat no bread. But I have a plan she loves to eat though and gets hungry easy, so I plan to take her to the zoo and not feed her at all, by the end of the day she will be starving and I'm going to make a couple of burgers when we get home and hopefully the smell will entice her to have a bite! I hope it works.

joycelvsbags-That is wonderful news. Happy that you are all enjoying your new home. With our special children always surprise us with special treats when we least expect it. Most children do their best at school at school and then save the challenges for us. This happens with children with no special needs. So be patient. Again congrats on all the good things that are happening for you and your family. It does get better I promise. One day you will look back and wonder how you got over. GOD BLESS.

Hey Joyce,
Happy to hear the move and adjustment went well. I'm thrilled to here about your daughter's progress. I agree with mlag724, most children do their best out of the home and leave us with the challenges. They know they're safe with us and are free to express their feeling however they see fit.

My sweetpea starts his physical therapy tomorrow. I'll fill you all in tomorrow.
