Default Best place to buy baby clothes?
I love looking for deals. I am 12 weeks pregnant. I don't really spend a lot of money on clothes, usually go to the sale rack or shop at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I was browsing baby clothes at TJ Maxx, not sure what I'm having yet....I find out next week. Anyways, I started looking at the price tag and majority of onesies are like $9.99 compared to $17.00 for Carter's brand. They seem very soft and comfortable. I'm so clueless when it comes to baby clothes and brands. I was wondering what stores has the best deals for baby clothes and what brands hold up well after washes? What about department stores? Thanks!

to be honest Carter's is almost always 40-50% in their own store and you get a FAR better selection.

If you don't want to spend a lot of $ on boutique brands, check out the sales racks in Gymboree, Gap and Old Navy.

eBay has some great things as well. So many people over-buy and end up with things that were never worn. You can get great boutique clothes for the same price you'd pay at Baby Gap! My favorite brand for onesies is Petit Bateau. It's a French brand that uses super-soft cotton. They definitely size on the smaller size/cut slimmer, so it's better if you've got a smaller baby.

I throw a shout out for Target. Very few clothes I've picked up there have shrunk & you can do really well on the sales racks, too.

I'm not sure if they have it in your state or not but Kohl's is fantastic. I've gotten my DD some really great items super cheap. Also check out Amazon. A few months ago I got DD a Children's Place fleece jacket for $2.

Like what other posters had suggested, Carter's Store, Target, Kohl's, Old Navy Gap and yeah.. ebay also! I must say, although majority of the baby clothes being auctioned on ebay are used... they're not that bad. If you're lucky, you'll get baby clothes that look even brand new. I'm talking based from my own experience. I tried this once with my DD... the toddler clothes I got were awesome and at a great deal vs buying them per piece at dept stores.

Anyway, there are Carter's Outlet and Gymboree Outlet Stores.. so check then out. Old Navy and Gap are great too! Target, Walmart and K-Mart are awesome too.. good prices!!!

Let us know if you're having a girl or a boy!!! Congrats!!!

I've been buying from Old Navy and Baby Gap lately. Their prices are very reasonable, and their quality is not bad at all (especially Baby Gap). Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Baby Gap is my number one place to buy. The Children's Place also has good clothes. I usually buy onesies from Target. I sign up for coupons too, so that helps.

I buy most of DD's clothes from the Carter's outlet store, Gymboree (on sale), and consignment stores. Plus she has all the clothes other people have given us!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I have been finding a lot of good stuff at TJMaxx and Marshalls lately. I also like to check out baby Gap and stock up on stuff that I really like and find suitable for the months to come. I've found a few good things at Old Navy & Target. Occasionally, I'd get a couple of things from Babies R Us, but not too much. I received a bunch of one piece footies from Walmart as a gift, and he ended wearing them a lot because the cotton was durable and thick for the winter.

Congratulations ! I shope at Gap and Tjmaxx and Marshalls. I love the gap stuff, it washes very well and seems to get rid of stains and stuff easily. I have never realy had a problem with stiching or any of their stuff getting holes and the material they use is very nice and they have cute stuff. I always buy on sale unless there is something I HAVE to have. I always hold on to my receipt, as they price adjust withing 14 days. On bit of info is that Polo/Ralph Lauren always runs super small especially their footie sleepers. They are super cute but definitely outgrow them fast, they are not true to size. Old navy is a little cheaper, cute stuff too and they have super sales. They actually have a package of long sleeve white onesies that are amazing ! It is hard to find long sleeve onesies. good luck !

I've heard that JC Penny has super deals. Especially on Carter's brand. I think I'm going to check that out next month. I have an Ultrasound appt July 2 so I get to find out the sex of the baby. I had an appt yesterday and I got to hear the heart beat. 160 =). So I guess once I find that out I can start to shop for clothes. My friend told me I should wait b/c if I have a baby shower pple would get me all that stuff. I don't know....I'm so clueless about babies.

If they have sales at JC penney that is great but I have to say, I think they have the worst baby/kids clothing I have every seen in my life. I go in there once in a great while and they have tons of crap and there will be like one thing I think is cute. If you have a boy it is hard to find cute stuff that is not babyish or cheesy/feminine looking. That is why I like the Gap for most boys stuff.

It's very likely that people will give you a TON of clothes. Once you have your ultrasound, it might be a good idea to stick to really basic things like onesies and sleepers, plus a few cute outfits you absolutely can't resist. I went a little crazy at first, but I've slowed down because other people have bought so many clothes for DD that she's hardly been able to wear them all!

I love buying at Babies R Us, baby Gap, Old navy, Children's place or walmart.
They grow so fast anyway so its pointless to spend a ton of money on clothes in the first year.
I bought my son a couple True religions when he was months old and he wore them once.. now he is almost 3 and can wear Premium denim/designer clothes more cause he doesn't grow as fast.
