PB Kids is overrated, not to mention pricey for what your getting. Plus as your child grows you will be buying new bedding, decor, and other things your little one will want as they get older. Many a times has my 3 year old been looking at the PB Kids catalog and told me- Mommy I want dinosaur bed, or spiderman bed, etc.... So I have always thought that not going overboard in the beginning is the way to go since you'll be spending $ on stuff later.

I did get a steal of a good deal at BabiesRUs this past spring on a crib & armoire for my daughters room. It was a floor sample and we got both items for the price of the armoire's retail price. Not bad...

You can get a lot more quality for A LOT less money than PBK.
I considered that hutch until I realized that it wasn't even solid wood and to be honest, the cribs I looked at at BRU and other places were just made better.

Unless you have money to burn, I wouldn't spend that much money on a nursery.

My son was in his crib for 2 years and then he was moved to a toddler bed for about 6 months and then a twin bed on a frame for the last year.
We went pretty cheap on all his nursery furniture.
Now he's at an age where I feel like he won't be banging into furniture or throwing stuff into it so just now I'm spending money on his "big boy" set that will be in his room at least for the next 10 years.

With my upcoming daughter, we did the same.
I bought a crib for under $300 and we repainted some existing furniture to match the room. When she turns 3 1/2 or 4, all the nursery stuff will be moved out and I'll spend the money on a big girl set that will be in the room for much longer than nursery stuff.

We ordered our crib from the JCPenney catalog and it looks exactly like the one from PBK. I wanted that same crib, but we went with the other because of cost and because it also converts to a full size bed and it was only $350. We did however order the changing table from PBK because it was the same, if not cheaper than the other stores we looked at and the espresso matches exact. Although I love PBK it can be overpriced at times.

And, we used a moses basket that sits on a rocker (also espresso colored). It was the best thing ever, because we could take the moses basket with us when visiting family or just in other rooms in the house. HTH.
