Default Are your boys, mama's boys?

My DS ( 4 months tomorrow!) seems to be clinging to me. I am a full-time SAHM, btw. I recently visited some family in the states, and I would try to leave him with my Grandmother for a little while so that I could shower, or go to the bathroom. About 10 minutes after I'd leave him with one of them, he'd start crying. Nothing will console him. But when I come pick him up, he's fine. He seems to do this with most everyone. Not so much his daddy, or if someone's holding him, and I'm in the room. But it's a little hard to pay attention to him 24/7 when I have everyday things to do, kwim?
I've heard a lot of people say that boys are almost always mama's boys, and that girls are almost always daddy's girls.
Do you find this to be true? Did your boy(s) do the same thing?

Yes, both of my boys are very attached to me. Especially at that young age...I was all they wanted. My oldest, who will be 7 in November is beginning to want to be with daddy more in the last year or so, but my youngest, who will be 4 in October still wants me most. And considering he's my last...I'm totally okay with that! He will ask me to come snuggle with him...soooooooo cute!!!

Totally! I am actually worried about when I go into the hospital to have my second, which is approaching quickly, how my son is going to handle me being away for a couple days.

Oh yes! DS is now 9mo and wants no one but mommy when he's upset or when I'm in the room most of the time. Sometimes he doesn't even want Daddy! He loves to stand up and cling to my leg. It's cute but I know what you're going through. I use a walker w/ my son so he can follow me wherever I go and not feel like he's alone.

Ah, they are all mama's babies when they are younger, but when they growl older (6-7) they especially want to identify with the parent of the same sex. It's hard then, because then the boys 'want to be like dad'!!

Yes, I'm going to get my DS walker it's hard to get stuff done with a little monkey clinging to the side of your hip
I left him with his daddy and his two friends yesterday, and it was only a matter of minutes before he was yelling for me!

Definitely not and never were (they're grown now). I have no daughters, so I can't compare. My grandson has been very clingy to his mother, but is getting less that way as he gets older. He's 2 1/2 now. She admits she misses it and is a little jealous when he shows any attachment to another female.

Yes definatly. My daughter would go with anyone my mother, my sister, her daddy, babysitters, but with my son who is now 3 and will be 4 in october is so clingy. He's getting a little better now, but when we go on play dates he'll play for 10 min take a break to sit on my lap and then play for another 10 and thats how it goes on untill we're done.

My son is just 8 months old and it's looking like he will be a mama's boy. He always smiles at me and just gives my DH a look but won't smile at him.

Yesterday I was out for most of the day and he was extremely fussy with my MIL and DH. But when I got home and he was in my arms, he was got quiet and cozy in my arms until he went to bed.
