Ladies! Congrats again to both of you! All went well for me on Friday. DS is here and is thriving! He's soooooo amazing! I'm soooooo in love with him! I'm actually still in the hospital recovering from my c/s, but I'm moving around really well. Going home tomorrow, and will post pics and birth story as soon as I can!
We did it ladies!!! |

Cecille and Spartan- How are things going with you and your LO's? I thought I would start this thread again to keep in touch since our LO's are the same age.
As you both probably have read I am worried about DD's weight. She is now just over 10lbs but seems absolutely perfect in every way. She is very alert and talkative and mimics sounds, knows when you say kiss to open her mouth (LOL her way of kissing) and plays with her toys a lot. Can't wait to hear updates on your babies.... |

Yay! I'm so glad you started the thread up again! I've been meaning to check in and see how your babies are doing!
ive_flipped, I read the thread you posted about your daughters weight gain. I'm sure she's just taking after you. I think its an asian thing too. I'm filipino, and all the girls in my family are tiny. My DD still has a heck of a time putting weight on. She's 20 months now, and still only weighs 20 lbs. My peds is Filipino, so he kind of understands, but is still having me feed her foods that are high in calories. I also supplement with some pediasure, but still she's slow on the weight gain. I'm not worried though, because she's otherwise very healthy, and is ahead of the game as far as hitting her developmental milestones. DS, on the other hand... Well he's gaining weight so fast that I haven't been able to keep up! He's outgrown so much of his clothing that what fits him today won't fit him next week! I can't believe it, but he's nearly 13lbs! He weighed in at 5lbs 9oz @ birth, and that was 3 months ago! Seriously?!? 8lbs in 3 months! I really think he's thisclose to rolling over! I see him really trying hard to do it! He's very alert, and has been able to hold his head up and turn to look at things since he was about 8 weeks old. I've been supervising him in his bumbo everyday for a few minutes at a time, just to help strengthen his neck and shoulder muscles, for better head control. He smiles and laughs at me all the time! He's my little charmer! I wasn't sure how having 2 kids so close in age both under 2 years was gonna be, but I gotta say its not that bad. I was really freaked out towards the end of the pregnancy! I made my little sister promise to come over every day when I got home from hospital, just so she could help me out. I even asked my mom to take some time off from work! Haha... I'm such a worry wart! Turns out, once I recovered from the c/s (which only took a few days, surprisingly) I didn't really need them! Lol! It was nice to have them around though. The time is really flying by, huh? |

Hi Ladies! It's good to see this thread again. It's so hard to believe our little ones are already 3 months old!! Wow!
Ive_flipped, your little peanut sounds so cute! Try not to stress too much over it, but I know it's hard not to. It sounds like she's hitting all the developmental milestones so that's great. My DD still has doctor's orders to eat fatty foods to try to gain weight! Cecille, it sounds like your DS and my DS are big chunks! Mine has probably doubled his birth weight by now. He was born at 8lbs. 10oz and at his 2 month check he was 14lbs. 4 oz. He's got to be 16lbs by now, I would think. We had it rough in the beginning with his jaundice and him having to go into the NICU when he was 3 days old. It was awful seeing him like that. He was so dehydrated too so they had such a hard time getting an IV in him and stuck him a gazillion times. Not fun for us but thankfully he will not remember. Now, he is thriving and I can't believe how much fun it is to have a little boy after having 2 girls. His big sisters love him to pieces and he just lights up whenever he sees them. He's such a relaxed baby who only fusses when he has gas and is uncomfortable. We live in AZ so he's been out in 110+ heat for hours at a time for my oldests swim meets and takes it like a champ. He definitely has my DH's laid back personality. How are your little one's sleeping through the night? Ewan falls asleep between 7-8pm and most nights won't wake up until 3am. He does have a lot of gas that sometimes keeps him up grunting and trying to get it out. Most nights he sleeps really well and I only have to get up once to feed him. |

Cecille and Spartan thanks for making me feel better :)
Gemma sleeps about the same as Ewan. She goes down about 7-9 and then wakes up at 3am to eat. I do sometimes feed her at 11 as well to get more food into her. And 3 mths already! I really can't believe how fast it has gone. I want time to slow down a bit. |

DS has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now. He goes down around 10 and wakes up around 9. Soooooo wonderful for a mommy who loooooooooves her zzzzzzzzz's, kwim? Lol! He rolled over for the first time 2 weeks ago! I'm over the moon over here! He can stay on his tummy holding his head up for a few minutes at a time.
Like your DS, spartan, mine lights up whenever his big sis is near him. He can't take his eyes off of her when she's beside him, and she's so smitten with him! I just warms my heart to see them together! Izzy is always kissing Isaiah (DH and I call him Xay) on his forehead, and when he fusses she tries to give him his paci, or she'll tell me he's crying until I go to him. I love his baby giggles! And whenever he sees me he just lights up! He just melts me! Don't even get me started on his baby breath! Heavenly! He's been drooling A LOT recently, and munching on his fingers... Could he be teething already? Izzy's didn't cut her first teeth (her first 6 teeth came in 2 at a time) until she was 11 months! She just recently cut her 7th! Eek! How are your LO's doing, ladies? 4 months old now! Wow! Before we know it, we'll be planning their 1 year birthday parties! |

Wow Cecille, that's great that he's sleeping through the night! I'm so jealous. I thought my DS was doing well getting up once per night, but that has since changed. He's now up 2-3 times per night and it's all b/c of his gas. Ugh...so we took a few steps backwards in the sleep department. My youngest DD never slept through the night until she was 11 months, so I'm hoping I don't have to wait that long for an entire nights sleep.
Ewan is also chomping on his hands and fingers a ton and is a drooling machine! I think they could be teething b/c I know the symptoms can start a month or two early. Like your DD, my second DD didn't get her first tooth until 11 months also. I'm not looking forward to Ewan getting teeth. When he breastfeeds, he clamps down hard on my nipples. I'm dreading that with teeth in his mouth and think I'll be in for some painful bites. Ewan isn't rolling over yet...maybe his chubbiness is keeping him from doing so. He has his 4 month checkup on the 19th and we are all taking bets to see how much my chunk weighs. It's so good to hear updates from you guys and I hope they keep coming. It's still amazing that all of our babes came in the same week! |

Gemma also is drooling and chewing away on almost anything she can get her hands on. She sleeps through the night 2-3 times a week which is good and she goes back to sleep in the morning for an hour up a bit and then another hour. She is like her mom and dad and likes her sleep lol.
The poor little thing picked up a cold from my nephew and has a runny/stuffy nose. She has been in a great mood but this morning is cranky with it. Gemma can roll 3/4 of the way and then she just stops lol. She also has gotten really good at copying sounds and can has a few times copied words (not fully clear but you see the thought and effort behind it) She will be talking in no time (not sure yet if that's a good thing lol cause little girls never stop once they start). My son is wrapped around her finger. He is so good with her and just loves her. He even takes the dirty diapers to the garbage for me lol The other thing I am going through with her is the making strange. She doesn't like anyone even to talk to her if she is in that mood. We went to the zoo and people just tried to talk to her and she cried. She crys when her grandparents or aunts try to hold her. The only people she doesn't cry for is my son, step-son and nephew. She adores them and they are SO in love with her. I have no idea what to do. I can't leave her with anyone for DH and I to have a date because she gets so upset she chokes and gags :( I have about 4 mths before I go back to work so I have time to work on it I just need to know how lol |

I'll pray that ur kids both start sleeping through the night soon... The first time Isaiah slept 5 hours straight was like heaven for me! He has his 4 month check up on the 17th. He probably weighs about 14 lbs by now. Last I checked, he was 13 1/2 lbs. I'm gonna ask the ped if its okay for me to start him on baby cereal now, as it seems that his appetite is really big! He's also been chomping down on my nipples recently... I really hope he's not teething yet... I don't think I'll be able to take it. ::ouch::
Spartan, do you treat Ewan's gas with anything? When Izzy was a baby my ped said it was okay to give her infant gas-x. It always seemed to do the trick. What does your ped say? i_f, I know exactly what you mean about little girls being chatterboxes! Izzy is non-stop! She never stops talking. The only time she quiets down is when she's watching TV. I find myself staying up later than DH and the kids (sometimes until 1am) just to have some "me" time. Ever since Isaiah came along Izzy has been super clingy (more so since I've been on maternity leave). Everyone's usually asleep by 11pm so I'll stay up and read, or go online. It's not too bad, because the kids don't usually wake up until 930 or 1000 anyway. Ladies, have your older kids gotten more clingy or needy since the babies came home? It's not that I mind it, I'm just worried about how Izzy will react when I go back to work. I'm planning on going back next month, but just on a part-time basis... Oh how I wish we lived close to each other, so we could get our munchkins together for play dates! |

cecille- My older one is MUCH older lol he is about to turn 11. The only change I have seen in him is that he is even better. He really has taken on the big brother role with 120% He loves her so much and will do anything I ask him to do. It's great because I have another set of hands around the house. I do know though my co-worker who just had his 2nd son said his oldest is VERY clingy and acting out. I am sure she will be fine with you going to work.
I have been offered to come back to work p/t as well for a few months and then back to my full time position. I am really considering it as we want to buy a new house and the money would be great for moving. BUT DD plays strange so much I am not sure how I can. |

Cecille, I've tried lots of gas drops and gripe water for Ewan but nothing seems to really help. Definitely going to have to talk to the ped. about it at his next appt. on the 19th. He's been getting up twice every night but thrusts about inbetween his waking up. I'm definitely jealous that your DS is sleeping through the night. So you think your DS weighs about 14 lbs. now? Geesh, Ewan weighed in at a whopping 14.4 lbs. at his 2 month check up! I'm thinking that he has to be 19 lbs. now. He's so thick and solid and I love it. Both of my girls were very lean and didn't have all the baby rolls.
I have also notices a change in behavior of my 3 year old. She's really good with Ewan but she's become very clingy too and very whiney. She has also just become a huge daddy's girl. Hopefully this will be something she outgrows soon b/c it's not fun. On the other hand, my 7 year old is like a second mommy. She loves taking care of Ewan and helping in any way. He just lights up when he sees her. I wish you ladies luck going back to work in the coming months! |
