Please do share your experiences cuz I haven't yet. My local movie theatre have a time slot that is designated for mommies and their infants/toddlers. I honestly do not know how I can watch the entire movie without getting up to change diapers, feed, etc. I have a 3 yrs old and a 7 months old just to let you know. One of my friend went with her 10 months old and said it was possible but I don't think she told me the whole truth!!! LOL I can imagine just bringing the 3 yrs old cuz they would be willing to stay put for 1.5 hrs?!?! Maybe not.
![]() Please do tell. I haven't seen a recent movie in ages ... |

I went with DD to see transformers which was a 2 hour movie and it was fine. She loved it! She watched all but 20mins (when she napped). They put a change table right in the theater so you don't have to leave. It is VERY possible to do!

the first time I took my son to see a movie at the movie theatre, he was about 2 years old....I think it was Shrek.....Anyway, I went to put him in the seat next to me and since he was so light, the seat folded him up and closed on him!!! LOL!!!! His feet were up by his head until I rescued him! poor kiddo....

i took my 6 week old 2 weeks ago to watch the proposal. i went to his drs appt and saw the movies a couple blocks away so i said, why not? just left him sitting in the bjorn with me...since it was at 1130am there were only 5 of us in room...it was nice and relaxing..def will do it again=)
the only thing i was scared of is if he was going to fart or poop real loud and people would think it was me hahah |

we took mack when she was only weeks old, we saw transformers 2 and ice age 3...she was fine both times. she started to fuss so she was given a bottle. she mostly slept the whole time though.
oh and we took her to see the proposal, i don't think she even woke up during that one. :) |

I never took my children to the movies as infants. It just wasn't worth it for me. Now that they are older, I take them to appropriate kids movies, but always during an early matinee. They do fine with kids movies (especially animated ones), but anything over 2 hours gets to be too long.

Not yet. I think my DD is still too young(she's only 2). I'll probably take her to her 1st movie when she's 4 or 5. We'll see something kid related.

i'd not recommend with a three year old, unless they are very calm.
we had 'Reel Moms' here for a few years (sadly they ended it), but we took our kids as babies. The movie was a current first-run movie (not a kiddie film). I went every week when my kids were in the infant seats. All they do is sleep, sit there and look at the colors on the screen, or sit in my lap. As my first child got older, like 15 months-2 years, it was way less enjoyable. she was running all around, could barely sit for 1/2 hour etc. I started taking my second child as an infant, but after a few months, they ended the program. I did also take my baby once to a mid-afternoon show, there were like only 4 people in the theater and she slept 99% of the time. |

I've never taken a baby to the movies. I don't think I'd enjoy it. DD was almost 4 before we took her, and since DS is 10 months, we have not gone since I was pregnant. When they're mobile but too young to sit still, it'd annoy me.

i wld not do that as it is not age appropriate for infants and toddlers. This is due to their short attention span and need to engage in physical activities which are more stimulating.
If they are frustrated and not used to the bright lights and loud noises, they will cry and affect others as well, thus making it not an enjoyable experience at all. I've seen how infants have reacted in cinemas and I'd think they will enjoy roly poly on foam mats and playing with sponge blocks and interactive toys better! |
