Default Anyone have a UTI while Pregnant? If so, symptoms?
So, I'm thinking I have a UTI because I feel some pressure down there and the balance in my head is a little off, but I'm not sure if it's the baby or me over-analyzing? DH and I played around yesterday morning (sorry if TMI) and now I feel like I have one!! Even when we were done, I emptied my bladder and washed up with a clean wet cloth. I do easily get them pre-preg and I usually know my symptoms, but with a baby in my belly, having to pee all the time anyway, it's hard to tell. I'm going to the OBGYN first thing in the morning for a test.

Just wondering what your symptoms were? Has anyone bought the UTI test strips from the pharmacy?

I had UTI's with both pregnancies. I seem to get them ONLY when I'm pregnant! Sorry, but I had NO symptoms! Each time they found I had one it was when they sent my urine to the lab to get tested (the strips didn't show anything). Sorry if I'm no help, but if you think that you have one you should get it treated right away! I didn't know I had one until I started spotting at around 24 weeks and had to be admitted into the hospital. They found out it had irritated my uterus which started to contract. Luckily, everything was fine! Talk with your doctor if you think you have one, it is easily cleared up if caught early!

sometimes (esp during pregnancy) i can feel a UTI coming on (main symptom is pain, especially after peeing) and then i just pop a few AZO cranberry tablets (or drink cranberry juice) and it goes away completely. i think i'm lucky though that im very sensitive so i feel very strong symptoms at the onset, so it is early enough to do something to make it go away. i know some people that have no symptoms at all for UTI and thus find out so late that the only solution is to take antibiotics. i hate taking antibiotics (it always effs up my digestive system) so whenever i feel any pain i just drink cranberry juice, it helps me at least

Well, like I said I was just paranoid! No UTI for me :-) It must have been the baby sitting so low and putting pressure on my bladder. Anyway...I'm glad I don't have to go on anti-biotics.

Thanks for your comments ladies.

Yay for no UTI. It must be the baby kicking at your bladder. Mine does it very often and makes me think I need to go even when my bladder is empty.

my baby does this often too, he'll be jumping on my bladder and ill feel like i need to go like 2 seconds after coming out of the restroom..argh! it is somewhat entertaining though, i figure the baby must be getting a major workout with all the jumping/kicking
