Question Anyone else potty training?
My oldest daughter just turned 2 and a half. We have dabbled with potty training a few times but she always ended up using the potty as a toy, so I would stop and give it a little more time. She only went potty once in her potty.

Last night, I went in the bathroom and she followed me and took her diaper off and sat down on the potty, but she didn't go. So I said "ok Ava, you want to put big girl underwear on?" I put some regular underwear on her and put her potty in the playroom (where it's tiled, because we keep the bathroom door closed.)

10 minutes later, she brings me the potty bowl filled with pee! I was thrilled. An hour after that, she brought it to me again, filled with pee.

So last night I put her in a pull-up, and when she got up this morning, she went in the potty again.. I think she's definitely got the hang of peeing in the potty. I have to wait and see how she deals with #2 this afternoon.

But my issue is that she goes to bed with a sippy cup. When she goes about a week with no accidents (or limited accidents) during the day, I plan to put her to bed with regular undies. So I guess I have to ween her off of her cup for bed.

How old was your child before s/he went to bed in regular underwear?
Did you put a potty in his/her bedroom at night in case s/he had to go?
Any other tips?

you and ava are doing a great job!! i think you are doing all the things you should right now. and yeah the sippy at night will have to stop unless she can wake up and go potty in the night time by herself. i haven't potty trained a girl yet that will be a few years away. but with my sons after a week of consecutively going in the potty they were good over night. but they never took a sippy to bed with them. my oldest now has some issues with accidents but that is because he is such a heavy sleeper, i swear if a train ran through the house while he was asleep he wouldn't budge.

Everything is cool..but yeah, take the sippy. I'm potty training two right now. My oldest tells me when he has to go, my 1 1/2 year old, he's working on it lol. They know no juice or water once their in bed...and that's my approach until they get up and go on their own. But you and Ava are doing great..she'll catch on.
