What do you guys use to help with the pain? I've used teething tablets which do seem to help. Do any of you use amber necklaces or hazelwood necklaces? We just discovered the hazelwood necklaces and so far they have been working great. For anyone who doesn't know, they are an old native american remedy to help with teething pain. The hazelwood apparently has the property of absorbing the body's excess acid(which I guess causes much of the teething pain..go figure!). What's even cooler though, is that they have been a miracle for healing our 8 month's old eczema(I guess they're supposed to help with a variety of ailments from teething, to eczema, to acid reflux; all associated with excess acid production) Our 2 year old's been teething like mad lately (he's gotten like 10 teeth in the last 3 months including 4 molars..he was a late teether) and they have really seemed to help with the pain. I know it sounds weird, but what can I say, they work great for us! The website where you can get them is www.hazelaid.com
Have any of you had experiences with these or other natural remedies like it?

My DS is starting to teethe. Unfortunately, he's almost 4 months so he's starting a little early. He gets crabby and bites down really hard on almost anything, and tries to chew the daylights out of it!! I thought about getting some baby orajel to put on his gums!

I use baby orajel I smoosh it into my fingers and then rub it all over her gums then I give her a toothbrush but only when the baby is strapped into something so there is no chance of tripping and having it lodge down her throat. I hardly use Tylenol but when it seems really bad I do use it. Other things that seem to help are popsicles, ice cream/frozen yogurt and a molded pacifier that she likes to chew on. I saw those necklaces before, I don't really like the idea of putting anything around the baby's neck but that is me.

Our daughter already has a number of teeth but has another one trying to pop in now. We try to stay away from OTC things like orajel unless she's really hurting and have basically relied on teething rings and such. A friend of mine in the US recommended Hazelwood to me but I have yet to find it over here in Germany

I use motrin or baby orajel. We had a nice break, but now we're dealing with 2 year molars. I felt back there and it was like a little pea under her gum : (

Hurricaine Gel...........it is the stuff the dentist uses to numb your gums before they give you a shot and I was told that it can be used for teething and is a million times better than Oragel. It lasts longer.

I used Hurricaine Gel with my 4 year old, and am using it with my 1 yr old and I won't be caught without it.

Where I live, you have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter but it is NOT prescription :)

I use that, the cold teething rings, and baby motrin....and that gets us through the worst of it

When my son was teething, I would just use a water filled teether that had the little bumps on the teether. I would use that for the bottom of his gums in a back and forth motion and that helped alot. I tried baby Orajel, but that made him spit it up. After the front bottom teeth came in, he didn't have any more problems with his teeth coming in.

My 7 1/2 month old son is presently using teething rings as well as Gripe Water (only if he's in terrible pain). I've been using the Gripe Water for the past month b/c his 2 upper middle teeth were coming out at the same time. Poor child has been going through this since his 2 bottom middle teeth started coming out at 4 1/2 & 5 months.

My DS is teething too right now and his 5th and 6th tooth are coming in from the top. He hasn't been that crabby lately, but sometimes he'll bite me during nursing. Overall, he is starting to handle it better than before. Right now, he'll put his mouth on anything, he'll even chew the shirt that's I'm wearing!

We put ice or frozen breast milk in these munchkin bags. It soothes DD gums and it keeps her busy for awhile.
