Look at these other stud bags I found at RN. I like the black bowler, not getting it but like it.

What's the model number on your bag SSC0619?

BL 0612 is 2060 at Style drops and 1795 at RN--weird.

I saw the studs tote BL612 on Raffaello & asked if it comes with shoulder strap, (it is shown with one on Styledrops) they just wrote me back & said "NO" so that may be why their price is lower...just FYI...their has no strap!

Ended up ordering it elsewhere anyways...

Lot of money for a strap isn't it??? That's crazy, the dimensions are the same and same style number. You could have a good cobbler make you one for less.

Same bag...funny how it has the metal rings for the strap, yet no strap.

I've seen them do bags this season that have rings for a strap, but the bag does not come with a strap. But, the style was not made at all with a strap--kwim? This seems odd that you can buy the exact same bag with or without a strap.

ssc0619, I bought the same studded bag as yours and I also suspect the interior is fake leather. The bag has a chemical smell that reminds me of petroleum products or something. Have you noticed a smell on your bag? I called a few Prada stores but they swear they only use real leather, they seemed to be a little offended by my question.

I bought mine at Saks, price was $2100 but I opened a charge card to get 10% off. They still had this style in the system as of Sunday if anyone is looking for it.

valerieb, I think it is the fake stuff too, and had big debates with the SA's at both stores where I saw the bag. Both SA's thought it was real leather.

I even discussed it with an SA at one of the Prada stores, but that store didn't have the bag. He said that Prada was using some pseudo leather linings, but only in the lower price points. He were speculated that a bag at this price level would be leather lined.

My bag does not have any odor at all. And if it were leather lined, it would probably smell like leather!!

I didn't know that Saks was carrying the bag. I got mine while on vacation in Canada at Holt Renfrew. According to the SA there were only a couple in their system and they sold them all. The C$ price after being converted to US$ was just under $2,000.

I do love, love, love mine though--no matter what the lining is!

I love yours too ssc, so much thinking of getting the one at RN, Saks here in Cleveland has the bag and played w/ it, but thinking why not get it 300 dollars less and have someone make me a long handle?

But I have the small one, PULLEASSSEEEE, remind me I have to be good. I think I might just have to stop looking at tPF until I make my mind up about the BV and see the ostrich bags. I'm not that strong anymore!!!!

Thanks for responding, ssc0619. I'm hoping the smell fades with time. My husband insists the bag smells like leather but not to my sensitive sniffer. It IS a beautiful bag, and I'm so glad you're loving yours. After seeing pics on tPF I was on a mission to find this stunner. I called several Prada stores and they tried to tell me it didn't exist--one SA even said it was probably a fake. Just when I figured I missed out I stumbled upon it at Saks. Obviously, it was meant to be!

Longchamp, I know you already have the smaller version (which is also gorgeous, NM in SF has it in their window display and it stopped me dead in my tracks) but I think you'll kick yourself if you miss out on this one. To me it's the ultimate studded bag! BTW, I'm also a huge BV fan so I feel your pain. Don't you wish you could just get them all??

^^ Yes I'm in pain, as I found a Lanvin bag I HAVE TO HAVE... LOL, so I'm trying to get that. But after that, have to be good.

I just got the pix/colors from Joanna on the Ostrich bags and they are pricey, so can't buy another studded bag, Besides I think I would go w/ the bowler and since I can't find it, don't want to go w/ Styledrops or Raffaello Network.

Hmmm, you are bad valerieb, I can tell you would be trouble for me!!! LOL, like any of us need help to get into trouble.

^^I bet the Lanvin is fabulous. Snagging a Lanvin AND a BV ostrich bag should be more than enough to help you forget all about a second studded Prada. I'm green with envy!

1) Which Lanvin--where is the picture?
2) Are there any pictures on the ostrich Pradas?
3) No second studded bag for you my dear....that would drain from necessary cabat funds. I am still scouring to find anything I can possibly sell. I am having to dig deeper and might actually have to sell something I care about!!

I am not known to have a keen sense of smell, so now I am wondering....maybe the bag does smell and I can't detect it!

I might ask one of my daughters to smell it. They can add it this to the stories that they tell their friends about their mother's abnormal obession with handbags. First it was taking pictures, then it was hoarding them, then it was gathering them together and selling them (they don't know it was to finance more purchases!!), and now smelling them.

My daughter thinks I'm weird too. I should show her your post, she thinks I'm the only one in the universe who photographs, hoards, sells (also to fund other purchases!) and smells bags. Maybe there should be a support group for children of bag-obsessed moms!

Btw, my daughter cracked me up the other day--I was carrying my amethyste B-bag and she made me stop and pose so she could snap a pic to send to her friend. I think she's collecting evidence to prove I'm nuts!
