Hmm, things about this bother me. I don't want to say anything inappropriate here because this seller has a good reputation, but I've been "bothered" by some of her Prada listings lately...

That being said, I canNOT imagine Prada creating a bag of an exotic skin and not putting a leather lining in the bag. I've had and seen quite a few snakeskin bags from Prada and they are always lined in color coordinated leather. This begs the question: is it really croc skin or simply croco-embossed leather? Whatever it is, it's horribly overpriced to my way of thinking.

SO here is my story.

My momther works for a VERY VERY rich woman...so Christmas is always fun since she gets the MOST amazing gifts as an employee (Ipods, GPS Systems, Gift Cards worth 100's of dollars, etc.) The Christmas before last They had a 'white elephant' gift exchange at her office...now none of the gifts were bought by the employees they were all bought by the employer. ALL of the women were fighting over this 'prada' bag. My mother, being the fighter that she is reigned victorious.

NOW, I am told (by her employer, who is a world traveler) that this was bought IN Paris.

BUT, since my mother did not understand the importance of the authenticity card she says she has no idea where she may have put it.

I don't know much about Prada, or much about bags in general, but I started to research the brand in an effort to find this purse anywhere...and the more I research the more I am beginning to think that for once my mom got a not so cool or expensive gift.

The Prada logo is very authentic, it is more the inside that leads me to believe that it is not so...ALSO I cant find this style in any collection...

I do not really care if it is fake or not as no one but myself really has to know, I would just like to know for my own sanity.

As a side note I do have the piece that has fallen off of the bow in the front...it is a very easy fix I have just not got around to fixing it.

Also, if it is a fake, since I am not well versed in purses or purse culture, is Paris itself known for its fakes? The woman that my mom works for is rich and very much NOT cheap, she takes very good care of my mom and all of her employees so I cannot imagine her giving a fake Prada with actual knowledge...so just wondering...

I don't know about paris and fakes but basically there are fakes everywhere.

I had an interesting day today and happened on a couple of purses. I'm not as familiar with the fakes as I need to be, so I knew that this was the best place to come for authentication. The leather is gorgeous and the bag is heavy, but I understand that the fakes can be quite impressive to the untrained eye. I'm crossing my fingers, but not too hopeful. What do you think?
